I thought Lew couldn't have been a past champion in 2008, they are just bending the rules to get him in, as the Battle Royals weren't going in 2008! I knew where to go to confirm this information....and the facts show that these HAVE been going since 2008. I have been able to confirm that this is NOT a conspiracy! I'll keep my eyes out though!

Not that I have much I can teach you about history seeing as most of yous guys have lived through the majority of it.

I'd like to tell you about a guy named Tommy Glaviano. Glaviano was signed as an amateur free agent by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1941. He played 4 seasons, beginning in 1949, for the Cardinals and 1 for the Phillies in 1953. His numbers aren't all that impressive, but in 1950 he batted .285, scored 92 runs, drove in 44 with 117 H, 11 HR, 29 doubles, and 2 triples. It was good enough to earn him a spot in Topps' inaugural and coolest card set which featured only 52 players.

There was a massive finger pointing shout out between the two warriors and I do believe I heard urbanmonk say "just bring it you jabroni"!

msw_sportscards got to his wobbly feet first and in garbled English declared his intentions for the 2nd round.

It was then that mr McMahon's music hit and he did the power shuffle down to ringside and grabbed a mic.

He said, "By order of the authority, the second round stipulations have been altered to a degree. In order to be fair to all the superstars, the category so desired by msw_sportscards, has been altered in the tiniest fashion. It will Now be Best Vintage Non sport card."

So the card us 25 years old, but the ink isn't. Going into Matlock mode: I guess you can say that since the ink is now on the card, it is, in effect, part of the card. Therefore, the auto needs to be cut out so that the entry can satisfy the 25 year rule. After that, it really will be a celebrity cut or, rather, a cut celebrity.

A Packer fan by birth even though I was born at the Lockbourne AFB, southeast of Columbus, Ohio. This was due to my father hailing from a small town in Wisconsin named Oconto. As kids we visited our grandparents and family religiously and in the mid-80s when Beer Can collecting became big, I was all in. Like many small communities in Wisconsin, they all seemed to brew their own beer. I have several cans, bottles and other memorabilia from the now defunct brewery.

Best of which I can provide this Vintage, circa 1978, post CARD.....

While I sincerely think my Capt. Kirk card is the superior piece, I too must vote for Darth....for 2 reasons:

1) I'm awe-stricken that someone actually resisted the urge to peel that bad boy off and stick it to something i.e. notebook, folder, bike, bedroom door(sorry mom and dad)

2) Sometimes one must set aside one's own ego for the common good and as Gandalf would say "Lil Opie Cunningham SHALL NOT PASS."

If I read it correctly, the "card" dosent have to be vintage. The Player Relic has to be. So a Hank Aaron or a Mickey Mantle Relic will work no matter what year the card is
