Collector Zone _ Hobby Headlines _ Topps & The NFL - BACK IN BUSINESS!!!

Posted by: TinCastleMusic Apr 29 2010, 08:58 AM

Not sure if anyone else has posted this yet, but it would appear that Topps is back in the NFL game for the 2010 season!!! I found the announcement from quite a few sources, but here is one of the articles I came across:

Now it looks like I can get back to my Topps Chrome collection for 2010 and hopefully even some Topps Mayo 2010!!! YEAH!

Lets see if topps can put out a decent product now that they are back. Chrome is the only thing they got.

Great!

We needed Topps back in with Upperdeck out.

I like Regular Topps especially if its anything like this years baseball which has a great amount of interesting inserts and good value.

Topps Mayo is a Great Product which can only get better ( I hope ).

I agree, Topps is very much needed for us set builders (I got back into collecting just to put together the Chrome set every year). It would be nice though if they threw us all a curveball and now put out some really good other products to go with the few standouts they produce!

Yay! Football is no longer a monopoly ohmy.gif.

On a side note, this is probably it for Upper Deck. I can't imagine with Topps now getting a new deal, Upper Deck will be able to survive soley on hockey production.

I don't think Topps gaining the license means much of anything to UD. All the damage was already done when UD lost their license.

I'm more than pleased to have Topps back. I do wonder about the quality of their releases this year though, given the disruption to their schedule with the license uncertainty. Hopefully they'll still be able to produce some good products.

I actually have to say Topps Platinum was a good sort of opponent for SP Authentic, sort of a similar set up with the two autos per box and one patch auto. plus they had more rookies available

Good News... as I know I'll be missing my chrome in basketball.
