Just opened it, I was pretty excited; turned over money I made on a Vick RC to bust it...really happy with the box.

(Sorry about the blurry images, I took them from my phone camera sad.gif )

I was really happy with both of the ARP I got, the gold of Pineault is nice, but I really love Oshie..only if there was more color!

...and the hit of my box:

Really happy with the results smile.gif!

Can anyone give me some advice as to the value of the Turris? I was thinking of around $250 on it; but anyways, thanks for reading everyone!

european soccer has corporate ads on jerseys already and auto racing fire suits.

Its nots as outlandish as one may think!
*

Don't forget the various Euro-Hockey leagues are plastered in ads as well!

Companies pay a premium for ad space which is right above the numbers on a player's jersey, where names usually go. Player's names in the Swiss league go on the bottom of the numbers instead of on top.

As you can see:

So my usual dealer gave me a really good deal on a box for whatever reason, so I paid what..30+tax I think on it? So I opened it and found these..

Lots of rookies..
Ryan Lipkin USA GU
J.A. Happ Auto
Jeff Baker GU
Rich Hill Stroke of Genius auto from UD Masterpieces?

I also found this Ken Griffey Jr. which is definitely a variant, but I don't see any on eBay...it has the retro Seattle Mariners logo in the corner, and griffer is in an alternate M's uni, with yellow/blue and running back from the field facing the camera.

Can anyone give me some information on this card? I saw other variants selling for $20; is this one that rare? Also, what else should I try to be digging up from this box? Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys!

guy refunded my payment. Wont respond to my messages. He was in a binding contract from ebay. what should i do?

He probably mislisted the auction and meant to put it at $99.99; and is willing to take the negative..I'm sure you can try to petition, but I'm not sure what paypal can do for you after he's refunded the money.

Hope you get the card though..

Yeah, the three guys came out of Ole Miss.

Great collection, Willis is our future; and one hell of a human being.

They're all going to be FS; I'll give you guys the first crack, if not, I'll turbo list the lot on eBay. I *WILL* keep in mind of eBay fees, so I'll do my best to give everyone good prices.

Thanks for reading guys smile.gif

QUOTE(Gforce083 @ Mar 18 2009, 04:43 PM)
But there is also a huge quality over quantity issue when comparing Maserati to Honda. Maserati doesn't pump out the number of cars Honda does in a year and alot more goes into the manufacturing of the Maserati compared to the lego like snap together Honda. And on top of that like you said, it's a supply and demand concept. A higher quality product in limited supply...

And higher quality product in limited supply does relate to Exquisite vs say Gridiron Gear....but one of my questions still is why does players X's auto in Exquisite seem more valuable to player X's auto in Gridiron Gear if that said auto was limited to the same product run?
*

I think you answered that for yourself. Maserati (Exquisite) has far fewer numbers, and the cards are much harder to find. Gridiron Gear (Honda), produces many more numbers..there's about a million parallels in Gridiron Gear too; which makes the cards even less desirable.

That's just the topic of card quantity alone. What about the prospect of getting something like a Jim Thorpe or Walter Payton cut? Sure can't do that in GG, now can you? Laundry tags or logoshields? Personally, I've never seen either of those things in GG, but pretty often in Exquisite.

I could keep going, but that's just what my viewpoint is. Luxury is luxury, and that's all Exquisite is.

Well, it comes down to branding at that point. You never really responded to my statement about it all being about preception. A Mazzerati will always sell for more than an Honda, because of it's branding and customer perception. Yes, there will be performance enhancements, but it's just fueled by consumer supply and demand after that.

I disagree, there is usually distinct taste difference in the store brand and name brand foods especially cereal.
*

Then you should notice the differences in card quality, set construction (better names, more HoF'ers), better photography, and on-card signatures of Exquisite, right?
