I saw the fish on ESPN this morning...it was a monster. I used to certified as a SCUBA diver and we used to go diving around some of the dams on the lakes. I've seen several cat fish that we at least that big down in the deep waters....but it is rare to catch a river fish that size. There was one guy on Belton Lake in Central Texas several years ago that caught a blue cat that weighed a little over 90 pounds....he was in a 12ft aluminum boat when he caught it. He said it took him almost three hours to land the fish and it drug him and his boat around in a quarter mile circle before he got it landed.

The current record for the world's largest blue catfish was caught January 16, 2004, in Lake Texoma, Texas. Maybe it's the same guy?
