QUOTE(Ilovetheheat @ Sep 13 2010, 08:55 PM)
Tony, the only reason I went from $42 to $50 is for one, there are several cards, I cannot do anything with. ie TTM and expired redemption cards. It wasn't just the signature au's. There were around 12-14 press pass auto's in fb and 4 or so "best" minor league auto's in bb and the score board auto's in bkb. Do not be offended or burt brother. Imagine my surprise and finding all the cards excluding the signature auto's that I found.

Im not trying to get over on you. I will go ahead and send a payment of $280 this Friday. I'll set up the thread Thursday night. Thank you for being civil and cooperative in this whole ordeal.

Before I close this thread however I want to make something clear. In no way can I profit from this deal or any other bulk common AU/GU deal at $1 per card.  If there were alot of profit to be made you and I would not have striked a deal. This lot would have went to another dealer or ebay. I can buy bulk lots of common fb/bkb at $0.65 all day when I buy in bulk. BB at $0.80 a card. When I made this deal with you it was after being out of the hobby for around a year and talking with dealers at my local shows. Out of the lot you just sold me, I have "Given Away" over 75 of the cards, excluding all the junk cards. I can provide references/emails if you want it. These lots were meant to get me back in the hobby and I have a few outlets for bulk GU/AU that give me Miami related sports memorabilia for them. Out of the 300 and something cards I can maybe sell 20-40 for $1, $2 if I set up at shows over the course of a few months. The rest I couldnt even get my money back on.

I really dont want even want the other lot after learning I can buy cheaper. But I am a man of my word and already agreed to it. Expect a sales thread up Thursday night.

Jeremy, thanks for the message. I respectfully disagree that there is no profit to be made when auto's are bought at $1 per, but we can agree to disagree on that. I do believe that in your case, it sounds like you aren't at it to profit, which I now understand. I wish you good luck getting back into the hobby. If you bought thousands of them and split them into player or team lots, a nice profit could be made. It's the type of thing I did for the last few years.

I appreciate your commitment to follow through on your agreement to purchase. I'll look for that sales thread Thursday-Friday.

Tony

QUOTE(Ilovetheheat @ Sep 12 2010, 11:39 AM)
Tony, Im going to be honest. Paying $42 for 85 cards I can do absolutely nothing with is not sitting well with me. I'll be honest though and let you know I have transferred the cards out of the screw downs and have since put PC cards in those. I cannot trade the signature rookies Auto's to anyone I know and the redemption/ttms are are just taking up space. I'm not trying to get over on you, or leave you no profit margin but you have to understand where I'm coming from. I'm a low budget, mostly low end collector who just loves Miami sports teams and trades cards to keep my sanity.

I can literally only use the screw down holders and the 85 give/take cards will just sit in a box unable to trade/sell. If you can take $50 off of our next deal we can close this. If not I guess we'll have to work on another solution.

I'm still interested in the other lot, however I did not expect this deal to last as long and purchased another lot collection recently. Thus, I cannot make payment for lot #2 until Friday evening. Let me know your thoughts.

Jeremy,

My thoughts are split. On one hand, I agreed to split it into two transactions, which costs me an extra $12 shipping even though I could have shipped everything together in one box, but you wanted to do two separate transactions. Also, I was very clear about the signature auto rookies from the 90's (even mentioned that the screw-downs were probably the best part about them), so I don't see that as something where I was being dishonest or shady. I'm looking on Ebay, and see that the cheapest screw-downs seem to be about 50 cents per holder shipped.

I already offered you a $42 reduction, and with the shipping on the second lot and all the screw-downs you found useful, I think it's a bit hurtful (I'm not hurt but I didn't know what other word to use) to ask for $50, but if that's what makes you happy, then fine.

You will obviously profit from the sales of the autos at $1 per card, and I too am just trying to sell everything so I can move overseas with my family and do mission work, but if $50 is what makes you happy (not $42) then that's what I'll do.

I would ask you to consider splitting the second batch shipping since you asked for two transactions originally and I didn't even bring up the extra shipping originally. So you can send $273 (or $279 if you will split the second shipping) on Friday. Let me know if you need my Paypal info.

Tony

I appreciate your willingness to solve this and come to a mutual solution. Please, allow me to sleep on this and we'll figure this out tomorrow when I have a clearer head. I'm sure we'll agree on something tomorrow and to clear any doubts you may have, yes I'm still interested in the second lot buddy.

Talk soon.

I cant find the PM stating they 65 or so 90's autos were indeed signature rookies. Nonetheless if it was said it went totally over my head. Those 65 cards  are worth less than semi star base imo.

Additionally, there are 18 cards such as TTM's and expired redemption's that I cant do anything with. Please, let me know how you would like to proceed with this.

This is a direct quote from a PM I sent you. I have it in my PM inbox:
"65 more basketball autos, but these are older signature rookie cards from the 90's. They are each in screw-downs, that's probably the best part about them lol."

Anyhow, you have a problem with 83 of the 323 cards. We have the other half, 323 more at $323. What if I do a $42 reduction (taking half the blame or whatever) which would be $281 for the second batch?

I mentioned that they were "Signature Auto" rookies from the 90's and I mentioned that I assumed you wouldn't want those, but you said you would take them too. I remember our PM conversation about it.

I just looked and this is what I had said about them in PM:
"65 more basketball autos, but these are older signature rookie cards from the 90's. They are each in screw-downs, that's probably the best part about them lol."

But at any rate, what do you suggest? Obviously want to work it out. Some kind of partial discount for the second batch?

Hi there!

Thanks for the interest in my buying prices and guidelines. I am buying 38+ players currently. They are below. If you have any questions, please let me know! I don't always check the boards, so the best way to reply is to e-mail me.
Tony

*** We will be moving back overseas soon (some time in 2010), so my list is very short compared to the larger lists I have bought with in the past.

*** I buy and resell these cards to help support the work my wife and I do with college students around the world. People often ask what I do with so many base cards and inserts, so I include this information here.

1. For fastest response, e-mail all lists or questions to me at serving4theking@hotmail.com.

2. The prices below are for commons (base cards) and inserts, #'d, etc.

3. I pay using Paypal. If you prefer a check you can send first, and I'll send a check or money order when the cards arrive.

4. I will take duplicates, up to 10 of the same card.

5. No beat up cards, please.

6. The prices are "shipped" prices, I don't normally add extra for shipping but I will split the cost of a bulk flat-rate priority box if the lot is a large one (600+ cards and/or $50+).

7. Subset and multi-player cards are OK, and all years and uniforms are fine unless stated.

8. Specific list not necessary, but I do need a list with the # of cards of each player. It's best to just copy and paste my list and put the number of each player at the end of each line.

BASEBALL:
R BRAUN (MIL): 9 cents per card
P FIELDER: 6 cents per card
K GRIFFEY JR: 5 cents per card (I'm overstocked so inserts, parallels or #'d only please)

R HOWARD: 6 cents per card
ICHIRO: 6 cents per card
D JETER: 17 cents per card
M KEMP: 6 cents per card
