Hi guys...time again to start planning our Boxbreakers High End FB Group Break for May. I am posting the team assignments that I am aware of so if you participated last month but want to add, drop, or change a team please let me know asap so I can keep the list accurate.

The cost remains the same at $115 to claim a team and of course you get every card pulled from your team. All boxes will broke on Youtube.

The final product list depends on the final number of participants but if we end up with 27 full paid slots plus sell the remaining teams in the draft/silent bid we should have a budget of about $3035. The product list is listed below;

Payment deadline: May 15th
Break Date: May 23rd

We will need to fill as many slots as possible to try to retain this product list so if you may want to join us with one of the available teams please let us know asap! Thanks Joe...got you down for the Bengals. Only two teams show open right now... could we possibly fill all 32 teams in a $115 per team break???

WestCoastSkinsFan - There was quite a debate on the product list and strong opinions both ways as to all NT versus mixing in some Exquisite. Since we have been all NT for 3 months in a row now I think, we decided to mix it up so the product list is final with the only exception being if we can cover extra boxes (based on how many teams fill) we'd add more 07NT.

I vote for NT. But if we go away from that I would like the money being spent to be equal per year. I don't think we should short 07 to get more 08. 08 EX has no real Bills product in as far as I know, please dont bring up all the convict Marshaun Lynch cards. I don't think there are any Hall of Fame or retired cards. Other teams are loaded in any product such as San Fran or the Steelers.

I agree I'd like to keep it close to even if possible but with Exquisite if we cut it down to 2 boxes it's too little and if we go all 3 boxes it's too much. Right now we will comfortably have 4 boxes of 06 and 4 boxes of 07 with over $900 being spent on each year. The past breaks we have always spent more on 07 than the other years $1325-1350 for a case of 07NT versus $1050 or so for the 08NT so I think it's a fair proposition to spend more on 08 this month. I understand that there will be no way to make everyone happy no matter what we do but the hope is by rotating some products and years of focus we will hit everyones interest at some point. I'm in the same boat as you with the Vikings. I'd go with an all 2007 break if I could to go for more AP's and there aren't too many HOFers for the Vikings either...but I think we need to try to continue to spread things out over the different years to remain as fair as we can to all the teams. The hard part as I see it is what to do when the good 09 stuff starts coming out as it will be tough to spread out over 4 years if we want to try doing that. At least we'll have several months before we have to decide on that.

I have not yet been able to find a case of 2007 NT so if anyone has a good lead on one I'm open to ideas as we need to have it ordered by Tuesday to keep this break on schedule!

I found 3 packs of NT07 for sale and sent the link to chris, if we don't get those thats probably the end of NT07.

This is a very good idea.NT06 could be dried up by next month.



Everybody did, as far as I can tell NT07 is gone and won't be restocked as most sites don't even have it listed anymore. I e-mailed chris at cards infinity, the youtube guy, and he can't get any.I know Crpalmi already tried the 3 regulars BO,DA and ATL. If you folllow ARplatinium' s breaks you'll know he opened 60 packs of NT07 in a week about 3 weeks ago and he has not be able to find any since, he even resorted to a hockey break just to have something to open.

I wouldn't mind extra 06 NT (I agree it will probably dry up soon), but I know some people have good 07 teams. Maybe go back to the tried and true 07 Limited???

I'm okay with an extra '06 and no '07. I'm also fine with '07 Limited as faulkrules mentioned. How about '07 Exquisite? Is that possible with the budget we have?

I went ahead and bought the 2nd case of 06NT while it was on sale. If need to I can hold on to it for next month and buy a case of 07Exquisite instead? Either way I need to commit by tomorrow to get it by Friday for the break on Saturday.

I'd say just leave it with what you got on the extra NT.

If we went to the 07LL the hits won't quite equal what NT may bring. Yeah the 06 box hurts the 07 teams. But we have opened alot of 07 material already.

The 08 might have been better for spreading around hits with a different "Fav" team base in the product, but at this point I agree with the move to get us the NT even if it means Kiansdad pulls one of those remaining Thorpe cards...lol

As much as I hate to say it, but next month may just have to have some 07LL

Yeah I think we've missed the boat on the 07LL for this month as they won't be on sale during the week. It's either:

08Exquisite
06 NT (2 cases) We would have just enough if we average $56 per team for the remaining 3 teams to be drafted (silent bid again).

or

08 NT Case
07 Exquisite Case
06 NT Case

The latter option would leave us an extra $150 or so but I don't know if I can even do this because I already bought the 08Exquisite case and extra 06NT case so I would have to hold on to those while still putting out more money out for the 08NT and 07Exquisite cases to replace them with.

Can we live with the first option? If the overwhelming vote is for the 2nd option I can find a way to do it since I'll be using the cases for Junes break so I thought I'd at least put it out there.

Ok guys...I think we'll go ahead and stay with option #1 with two cases of 06NT and the 08 Exquisite case. If anyone wants to drop out based on this please let me know asap and I'll be happy to refund.

I am opening up the silent bidding for these 3 teams immediately with a minimum bid of $40 per team. If you have interest in picking one (or more) up and you are a participating member of the break already just PM your top bid and we'll go from there. I'll take the top bid that's $5 over the next bidder for that team so if your bid is $60 and the next bid is in at $42 you will get it for $47. Bids must be submitted by Wednesday at 9pm(ct) and payment in by Friday if at all possible. I'll email everyone so you are all aware of the timeline and procedure.

what a bummer. I have been waiting for this break for two weeks now. then I see that we are not doing 07. Chris please let me know if any other teams become available as to the KC cards in 06 and 08 just is not the same. Exspecially after waiting to get a nice D BO. I do not know if I would be happier just getting skunked this month and hopefully getting more lucky with some 07 exquisite next month. oh well I will check back next m0nth, but let me know if other teams open up. This will be the only month that I choice to not check the videos and I will just wait to check the mail and see what I got, I imagine it will not value above 30 dollars of card value.

I think it's a little early to write off 07NT for future breaks as I would think over time they will surface here and there. I'll be on the look out for them and if possible stock up on a couple if I can afford it. This month it just didn't pop up anywhere over the last 2 and a half weeks but I would bet someone will have a few cases over the next few weeks. We'll see where we are with it by the time we have to set the June product list but I'm suspecting it will be back. If not I would rotate 07Exquisite into the mix and go back to 08NT as the newer product as we somewhat planned that we would do.

I really hope your right , but why would the entire internet be out of the best selling/most popular football product for over three weeks?someone would have restocked by now. I honestly don't see it being available in quantity.

If there is any NT06 left next month I hope we include as much as we can before it ends up like NT07.


LL07 was getting close to $90 a pack for 3 small 1 color hits of players that probably dont even play anymore, the cards are shiney and the case hit is a slide/stamp this is not a highend product its a regular set of cards they packaged light on base to look fancy, you can get better patches out of $5 SPA packs.

It's a matter of opinion, I personally like the look of Topps Letterman. I think the Xfractors especially look really nice, despite the sticker and despite the patches being manufactured. And I've seen the Patriots do well in case breaks.

To top it off I've busted a case of 07 LL myself so it's not like I don't know the product, so yeah I'd love to see a case of Letterman busted over a case of 07 LL.

I know I'm among a VAST minority of people who enjoy the Letterman product, you guys don't need to tell me.

Maybe Triple Threads though? I'm a true team collector. I'm just looking for some variety! I mean I'll take ANOTHER Maroney cut auto, but I'd like a Kevin O'Connell Triple Patch Auto!

Letterman is 08 anyway, right? Topps has a history of bad high end...remember Paradigm? I would rather take my chances with UD!

Chris is on the right track with hunting/gathering more 07 NT as it surfaces, but the prices will be inflated for sure. As for alternative 07 products, I assume Chris wants to stay away from boxes with lots of packs and base. That leaves us with:

07 Limited (1p/7c) - 3 hits x 12 = 36
07 Absolute (4p/4c) - 4 hits x 18 = 72
07 Triple Threads (2p/6c) - 2 hits x 9 = 18
07 Premier (1p/7c) - 5 hits x 10 = 50
07 Exquisite (1p/7c) - 6 hits x 3 = 18
07 SP Rookie Threads (6p/5c) - 12 hits x 10 = 120
07 Sweet Spot (1p/6c) - 4 hits x 20 = 80
07 Ultimate (4p/4c) - 8 hits x 4 = 16

and sent it to chris saturday night, they are the last ones I could find anywhere but he went with doubling NT06 instead.

Other than those 3 there is 1 for around $400 or best offer but thats it, NT08 looks like it could go below $1000 soon so NT could still be in the break. NT07 was great because it made up for the busted 07 rookies with current/HOF, nothing else on that list can do that i'd think exquiste or triple threads but would hate to invest in a whole case of those, we'll probably end up with exquiste



Its 5 hits and a base, EX08 has the gold pack so you get 6 hits in 08.

Yeah that was the only 07 I could see and I didn't want to pay more than $100 a pack over what we normally pay plus he only had 3 left so I passed.

If 07NT can't be found for next month my vote would be for Premier over anything else. Like the other suggestions before I know I'm in the minority with that suggestion but that would be my vote. I'd also be fine with Exquisite or to a lesser degree Absolute Memorabilia but I'd want to listen to the group. I have my own opinions on TTT or others that only offer a hit or two per box but I think Barrow makes a good point as far as getting more variety into the mix. I know that's the focus (somewhat) of the Hobby group but it could still apply (to a point) in our High End group too.

Leaf Limited is ok, I just got burnt on it after all the case breaks and plus they were included in the regular breaks as well.

Why did 07NT dissappear. #of boxes per case. Sure beat the other cases even at a little more. I just don't think the pulls were as nice. That just a personal opinion.

Exquisite, I like it for break purposes. I really hate to buy the box myself...lol

Premier..Why not, we have to go somewhere. The Triple threads I love but I understand, most boxes you can't break even and that's at the weekend price of 119 and it is really only 2 hits. I still love it though. We all have our soft spots.

Absolute, I wish there was a better gaurantee on more auto's. Personally I have never purchased a decent box no mater what year. I know they are out there, I just hadn't had any luck. Doesn't mean I'd quit on them though.

I am looking for a case of 07NT as well and will keep the group notified if I find anything. I have been trying to buy a case myself, so we'll see what we can come up with.

I would say premier as well. I would like to say since NT is dissappearing it must mean its a fine product as opposed to the over priced EX. If 07 is dead maybe we go to 08 but I would like a redraft of teams.

If I was I'd be SCREAMING every month for a case of 03 SPA... It's a keeper league and I am happy with keeping my fav's. I don't complain when a year of product doesn't suit my needs.

Wow that was exciting. I agree with no triple threads. I love them personally
but the group break just does not cut it with one auto per 2 boxes.
there was a lot of debate, but we will have to see if more boxes show up.

also curious if any of the people out there with more than one team would want to save a little money and get rid of a team. some of you have a couple teams and did not know if maybe you could share the wealth.

as to redraft that just is not the solution nor should it be an option. and i would love to, but that is just NOT RIGHT

Thanks for keeping the eyes open for these. I'll be checking different sites every day so I am hopefull we haven't seen the last of this product.

As for a redraft, unfortunately I would have to agree that the people that have held their teams have done so in most cases because those are the teams they collect and with the group having been together for quite some time I just don't see taking someones team away.

HOWEVER... where I do think I may make a rule change is in regards to the waitlist. There are some teams I have 5 or 6 people waiting for their availability. What I may do is reward the people that are currently in the group by awarding them first crack at any team that opens up rather than look to the "outside" to fill the slot. That way it rewards someone like yourself for taking a team that you may not normally collect (for the sake of being in the group) by putting you above any "non-participants" on the waitlist.

Any opinions on this??

Last day to get bids in for picking up any of the final 3 teams. So far there has not been a bid for the Seahawks. If they finish without a bid I think I may offer it to anyone from outside the group that may want to join us. $40 minimum bid required and the deadline is tonight (I think I said 8pm ct).

I did not know teams were priced differently. I love the idea of group members moving up, I thought if I was in the group I would have a better chance of switching teams perminately.

So if any of you with more than one team are interested in switching or dropping one team let me know.

No, they aren’t priced differently. I am just saying that I could be persuaded to drop either the Raiders or even Colts for a good offer The Steelers will ALWAYS be staying with me!!!

It by no means has to be any kind of value on the offer, but more assurances that I could get them back or reclaim them when I wanted too or similar to that…just something that would make me interested in dropping or trading either team!!!

**This would be have to be for next month or the future as the break is happening this weekend.**

If I were to move a team this is how I would do it, lets say(HYPOTHETICALLY NOT AN OFFER) I wanted the colts and stormfan wanted the cowboys, I would pay for my cowboys, he would pay for the colts, then we would start a transaction, offical forum post and all, that I agree to trade my pulls for his for this month, then just have chris send the cards to the right person. This way i retain the cowboys for next month and stormfan gets the cards this month.

I would never drop my team to someone, I always want my name next to it in the first post.

I also concur with stormfan that a mid-range team might want to sweeten the deal to have a better chance of moving up.

The only teams in the future I would want for a month would be steelers, packers or bears( hahahahahahahaha yeah right i can't believe i wasted the time to even type bears) and those won't happen. (im not asking so you dont need to say no, just thinking out loud.

Is it saturday yet?

Yeah the position of the auto should have nothing to do with it but the question is...is it more of a left/right player orientation of a upper/lower orientation? I'm leaning side by side but since it's a nice card I wanted to see how others view it. I'd rather not randomize...

when i first saw the card, i said, "dang, that suck for the cowboys guy". it looked pretty clear left to right lions, to me.
