I got a package in the mail from Donruss, it has been a long while since I received anything from them. Here is what I received:
Base parallel numbered to 100 of Preston Wilson card WS-64.
Blue base parallel numbered to 50 of Curt Schilling card WS-19.
OK, here is where I am confused, the Schilling card in the base set lists in my Beckett for $1 and as card 25, but he is not listed in the Blue section at all. Yet others like Randy Johnson are listed in both the regular base and the blue base sets. So how do I determine a price? If Randy Johnson is listed for a $1 in regular and then in the Blue he is listed for $2, I would think Schilling should be too? The reason I ask is the multipliers are lower on the Blue set than they are on the white and I am still trying to guess what BV is.

If your guys base is the same as a listed use that as your measuring stick. They may just omitted schill from list to keep book size down. It wouldn't be the first time they have done this!

The Blue cards are actually an insert set and not a parallel of the base set. The base set has 175 cards while the Blue insert set is 100 cards. As you've already mentioned, the same players and card numbering aren't used between the two. For Schilling, here's the value of his Blue insert card: 2004 Donruss World Series Blue 19 Curt Schilling D'backs $0.30 $0.75 Here's the value for your parallel/insert card: 2004 Donruss World Series Blue HoloFoil 50 19 Curt Schilling D'backs $2.00 $5.00 -Bob

That stinks. The base is worth twice as much as the blue. Oh well at least it only cost $0.37.

QUOTE(bob_TCC @ Nov 7 2005, 10:41 AM) Can you kick $0.37 though? -Bob Not kicking it, just not as good as I would like. I had some nice NPNs in the first year and got spoiled. I got Nameplates of Belfour, a Jimmy Smith auto, Datsyuk graded RC + + +. I just would like something of substance for $0.37. When you get a $3 to $5 card for $0.37, it is nice but you wonder if the $0.37 would have been better spent torwards a pack of my choice or on a card in the same range for a set I am working on. I love the "free" cards and say THANK YOU! to the companies offering NPNs. Hopefully, if I keep throwing out lines I'll catch that whale?
