QUOTE(redwing40 @ Feb 23 2013, 10:43 AM) Packages mailed out this morning, I was not a happy camper after, this could put me right out of doing anymore collecting for awhile or group Box breaks! Here's the scan of receipt with Tracking numbers, look for your tracking number if you want to track it, Total Cost with DC $48.81 Paul, that is the highest I have ever seen the packages cost. I expected that the Canada and Denmark ones would be more, but not that much more. The most I ever spent shipping was $38, most though were around $30 and we budgeted around $35. We will have to take a look at this for the next break, as the idea of the group is that it breaks even so the host does not have to pay anything.

Just a couple of thoughts on the postage issue:
A. One option is to lower the budget for boxes for this.
B. We need to discuss the possibility of a rate change for non-US members of the group. I don't want to raise the overall charge for the group, but I discussed with Bill the possibility of raising the non-US member rate and will have to add $? I try to budget $3-3.50 per slot and it seemed to work OK prior to the rate increase, however that did not work this month. I know Mark (CHF) generally sends an extra $4 for his slot and that still ended up short this month when added to my budget amount.
C. Another option is that we could start only sending base of Owned teams, all others remain with the host. That might cut down some cost, but not sure how much. Or we bump everyone wanting all those cards an extra amount?
These are just some thoughts that need discussed if we want to keep the group going as it is not fair to the hosts to pay for their slot, do all the sorting and packaging, and then pay extra for postage.
If anyone has any other ideas please feel free to share them.

QUOTE(bajmurray @ Feb 23 2013, 05:30 PM) Unfortunately, the most recent USPS rate increase just killed international shipping. Prior to the increase, a 1 ounce bubble mailer anywhere in the world was $3.00. It is now $6.25! I know it pretty much has killed US to Canada low end trading for me. Not worth sending a $8 gu across the border and paying $6 to ship it.

Anyone else have opinions about the postal increase or what we should do as a group. I think our $26 per member is a good price, but the other side is that I don't want the host to have to eat postage.
Assuming we would have 13 members at the $26 for next month that would give us $338 in funds, less roughly $13 in paypal fees (around $1.05 for $26), less $49 postage, and roughly $20 for supplies (toploaders, bubble mailers, sleeves, team bags, etc), that would lower our budget for boxes from $260-270 to $245-255 and I would probably do groups in the $250 range in case prices change.
Thoughts?
