Most of the time I go by BV. I don't like using BV when trading vintage for newer stuff though.

I just can't stomach that some refractor type rookie card is worth anywhere near the same as a 1961 Koufax in ex/mt tongue.gif

Outstanding stuff!

On a similar note, I have a story of which I am the knucklehead involved.

One day my friends and I were playing ball in the yard when we knocked our last baseball into the overgrown empty lot next door.

After searching for like thirty minutes, we gave up and turned to our only remaining baseball: a commemorative ball signed by the 1983 "Winning Ugly" White Sox team!

I can tell you it wasn't an official ball, because it looked oval after about an hour of playing with it!

Looking back on it, I'm pretty sure the auto's weren't real, my dad was much too cheap to spend that kind of $$ on a ball smile.gif

I like the Josh Fields Exquisite. BV is $20 so $5.00 + $1.50 = $6.50, correct?

Word!

(Sorry, couldn't resist smile.gif )

I couldn't agree with you more. In this day and age of digital communication, no tone inflection comes through. Short, half-baked messages generally come through sounding rude and terse regardless of the sender's intent.

Congratz! 1970, 1971 and 1972 are a pain!

It's no small feat to knock one of those out!

From my experience, the only time BV and SV are close to the same is when you're talking about vintage cards (adjusted for condition of course)

Or maybe a highly sought after card in its heyday, ala 2007 Jeter, Mantle, Bush.

"White Whale" comes from Moby Dick, Ahab chases Moby (the white whale) to the ends of the earth and ultimately destroys himself in the process.

Much like chasing down an elusive 1/1 for your PC, finding it and dropping $500 on it, thus destroying your budget for that month and forcing you on to a mac 'n cheese diet for the next 5 weeks tongue.gif

At first I thought your article would be about the PST being higher in BC tongue.gif

I'm really sorry to hear that. We'd all like to support our local shops, but you can't help someone who won't help themselves.
