I thought I would poke around and find out if anyone else is as excited as I am about a few upcoming album releases. First of my excitement is mainly focused on
J. Cole- The Sideline Story album
So far a few songs that have been leaked or released and from what I have heard I believe it is going to be one of the better albums of 2011. Official release 9/27/11
The second would be Kid Cudi's supposedly, in the making, mixtape A man Named Scott. Now I have heard many different possible release dates but am not sure when or if the mixtape will officially drop. He said in the summer, so he still got some time but I am doubting whether it will happen. These are two I can not wait to hear.
Basically If you have any albums you can't wait for or just want to talk music you know what to do laugh.gif .

Cudi's Album Wizard I assume. I am unsure how well Cudi will be able to do a rock album. Hopefully it's not an album focused totally towards mainstream airplay. Cudi I thought was much better in his songs when they had a meaning ie. Ghost. Erase Me on the other hand, to me, seemed to have a big Kanye influence which I don't think was a good thing unless you look at the marketing side. That song alone made him TONS of money.

3. My world or Ghost
Erase Me was a good song until I heard it so many times. It got old real fast haha

The mixtape of the year is undeniably Scrublife by Wax.

Download it here for free to listen to the most underrated rapper of the year:

I got to say that is a pretty good tape but in my opinion Mac Miller's Best Day Ever is the best mixtape of the year so far.

Glad you like it. He's not getting near as much exposure as he should be, so I try to support him a lot.

Interesting opinion but Mac's lyrics and flow don't even come remotely close to matching up with Wax.

For lyrics and flow I'd have to give it to J. Cole. He always seems to have some sort if deeper meaning that people should understand if they hear the lyrics. Wax is good but I would have to listen a bit more to see if the lyrics have an underlying meaning.

Yo Gotti's "Movin' That Charlie Sheen" is VERY good. Jeezy is putting out some good stuff as well. I'm really hoping Wayne's Carter IV is amazing.

Yeah once you listen to Scrublife a little more it'll really grow on you. I love it. I'm happy he got a record deal (signed with Def Jam recently) and can finally come out with a feature debut album in the future.

I have never really gotten into yo gotti. I don't know why for sire but never really have. All my friends call me crazy because I don't like to crank the bass when listening to music. I listen for the lyrics, that may be is why I don't like rappers like Flocka. His lyrics are crap, but for people who like bass, he's your man IMO.

And with Wax getting signed will hopefully give him that boost to become big, the only problem with that is when you get to be big you start to create music less for yourself and focus it more towards what the fans want to hear or so it seems. Thus losing that heart or emotion that should be part of a song

J. Cole recently released Any Given Sunday #1 on Aug first. And on the 8th he released Any Given Sunday #2. Both tapes are very good IMO. Can't wait for him to drop the sideline story or Kid Cudi, if he ever decides to, release A Man Named Scott mixtape.

On another note. I want to open this topic up to all types of music. Mainly because lately I have been listening to O.A.R, Dispatch, State Radio and discovered a band called Virginia Coalition. I was pleasantly surprised and have come to enjoy their music very much. If anyone knows any other bands who are similar to any of these kinda that alternative, rock, folk genres I would love to know who they are.
