Can anyone tell me if the Topps 91 desert storm series numbering run con-curenttly or is each series a stand alone set?

If you mean the 1991 Topps Desert Shield sets. Topps only produced enough cards to make 6,800 sets. It was a stand alone set. Most cards never made it back to the states, as they were shipped over to Saudi Arabia. They were given to the troops in packs.

You're talking about the sets that feature planes and generals and such, not the baseball set (that's what finestkind was talking about).

I do believe the numbering continues through the sets. I have them at home. If the first set ends at card #90, I'm pretty sure series 2 begins with #91.
