Saw a listing last night for 20000 cards for $100 at a storage site. Thought I would swing by. Apparently they kept finding cards....I think there will be close to 60,000 or more. I did a quick look through. Wasn't too excited as the boxes showed some water damage...but the cards didn't look bad. Took just two minutes..found some Collector's Choice Starquest, Score Gold Rush, and 3 Jeter top prospects..so I figured that the lot hadn't been searched too badly. Hopefully I will find this collectors Private collection in there as well. I'm not going to give as much detail as usual (because I don't get alot of feedback..and it takes a lot of time..), but if there are big hits, I will certainly post them!

First thing i grabbed was a few 800 count size boxes

box of 91 Score football..water damage, but Favre was there..

yeah..not too excited about the overall quality so far...haven't found the boxes I saw right away..but I have to keep in mind, to get the cards home I put a bunch in the truck, filled the back seat..and the front seat...

Haven't found a lot of good stuff..some nice base cards of stars...1993 Classic AROD some playoff chips that I think are cool...some minor parallels..but grabbed a handfull of interesting cards...

Playbook Standout Numbers oversized #d/2700 - total of 40 of them including Favre, Aikman, Emmitt, Barry
2 more #d 270 of Watters and CMart
2 Red Zone Stats #d/1000 of Karim Abdul Jabbar

8 Playbook magnified #d 2000 including Aikman, Marino, Elway
5 #d/200 as well but biggest name is Issac Bruce and Tim Brown

Looks like they would all be somewhere between $1-$8 BV each...

ahh...grabbed a little handfull of ziplocs...

1998 Press Pass Kickoff including 1 Peyton, 3 Moss, and at least 1 Ward (and that ziploc was marked "duplicates")

found a whole lot of 1998 Press Pass...included alot of Moss..had a tough time finding some Peytons but finally did...but am frustrated at how many cards are sticking in this lot...both of the Peyton have little paper in the lower corner fron the previous card..

On the good side..just found a box with nice promise..some plaques..

including a 1983 Sandberg RC
Aikman plaque with cheap card in it
Emmitt plaque with Emmitt Wheaties card in it (no idea on value of that)

I grabbed a monster box, expected it to be full of commons...found about 100 electric diamonds, some gold versions as well...even found a Kobe and Nash Ultra RCs...

Water hasn't effected that many cards though I have tossed about 1000, but 800 were in one box of Harley Davidson cards that looked like they had been burnt...

Sounds like it's not going too bad at all. Hope you find some more nice ones. Oh and if you find any Don Mattingly cards especially inserts please keep me in mind. Thanks.

I will have to remember that about the Mattingly's have seen several, especially food issues...

Rodney, sales aren't doing too bad..kind of a slow week until today..then popped 6 cards all at once...

Oh yeah...forgot to mention...got a Jordan money clip..apparently it came with Jordan's cologne..

well..I have been disappointed with the quality of cards that I have been finding...not alot of inserts at all...not getting huge amounts of big time players cards... some of the cards have been damaged...

but tonight I did find a Priest Holmes Paramount RC...BV $20.

Only the second card with a BV of over $10, not includng the variations of Peyton 98 Press Pass cards...

The Paramount kind of confuse me since I am color blind...I think this is a gold which is just the base card...hopefully I find more of these.

I also find that alot of the sticking is being reduced when the cards sit out for 24 hours. They seem to separate alot better after that...wish I would have known that earlier!!!

I think I still have 20,000 cards to go through...darn good thing I like parallels!

I did find a nice box of Nascar..don't know alot about them but quickly pulled out a couple of $5-10 cards and think I have another nice stack of parallels with some decent names in it...

Found a nice stack of 86 Topps that were in really good condition for the black borders...but no names worth mentioning...

so...I am STILL going through boxes of these cards...mostly commons, still find some inserts every now and then..and some McGwire, Bonds, etc...

but today going through a 3200 counts of what is almost exclusively commons...I find 2 1993 Topps Jeter RCs!!
