According to several media sources, the 2012 Winter Classic goes to the Flyers and the Rangers. The flyers would be the home team, playing in a baseball stadium (Citizen's Bank Park) on January 2nd (so not to interfere with the last weekend of regular season football, if there is one).
I personally believe that having the game on the 2nd is a good idea for this year, but as to why the Flyers get it 2 times in the past 3 years is beyond me.

They want to focus on the larger markets but the best Official Winter Classic ever was the first In Buffalo! I may be biased as I love the Sabres and I was their but I really dont think there could be one as good.
