Some great new comic book movies have recently been announced, and some are currently in production.

Fans can expect a new trailer sometime soon, which will show Topher Grace turning into Venom. The new trailer was shown at this year's ComicCon a couple weeks ago. Heath Ledger of "Brokeback Mountain" fame was named to play The Joker in the upcoming sequel to "Batman Begins." http://filmforce.ign.com/objects/752/752133.html will begin filming in early 2007.

A film adaptation of the infamous http://filmforce.ign.com/objects/034/034317.html comics was announced earlier this year. On August 1, Director http://imdb.com/name/nm0269463/ ("Elf" and "Made") reportedly offered the lead role to http://imdb.com/name/nm0005024/, who was nominated for an Oscar in last year's "Hustle and Flow." "Iron Man" is slated for a 2008 release.

Everyone's favorite X-Man is getting his own film. http://filmforce.ign.com/objects/034/034461.html was announced early last year and actor http://imdb.com/name/nm0413168/ also will be producing the film. Stay tuned for more information as it develops.
