THE BIG BREAK !!
Now with 21 of the 39 boxes being Football - All Exquisite and National Treasures!!
**** Please note there was a change in format so if you have not reread this please do. Basketball is no longer part of the break and we have added another case of 2007 National Treasures and a mini case of Prime Cuts BB for a total of 39 loaded boxes (21 Football and 18 Baseball) and this way each box is loaded. This means you could be getting a box of NT for as little as $130 or $140 as you can bet there will be some loaded Prime Cuts boxes that will go very early in this draft causing the FB boxes to drop quite low.*****
This is your chance to be included in TCC's Biggest Multi-Sport Group Break EVER! A chance to put collectors of a couple different sports together in a break that will encourage trading of slots and strategy aplenty to make sure you get the box you want...and a break that allows you to pick and choose from among 39 high end loaded boxes to select the box that you want rather than be at the mercy of the pack gods by being stuck with whatever cards you get in a box if you were to purchase it on your own!
No, this is not overcompensation for any personal shortcomings (I figured I'd get that joke out of the way before someone eluded to that) but I feel it's time for the biggest break ever organized by the Boxbreakers group! Close to $10,000 in cards in one group break covering two sports of Football and Baseball. This Multi-Sport break will be a totally different format and will not be divided by teams. Here's how it works (with props to JRThurmer for the draft idea). You participate in the break by purchasing a draft slot ranging from $115 for 39th pick to the number 1 pick at $610. Once all slots are filled and payments received we bust 39 high end boxes (product list posted below) from among the 2 sports listed. Once all are broken and highlights of the contents listed, you then get to pick which box you want to claim based on when it's your pick in the draft to select. The box you claim is yours including every card in it. Strategy plays a part here as well. Because we will have boxes from 2 sports included you may not know if the person ahead of you will take the BB box you really want and it will hopefully promote some opportunities to "trade up" if there's a box you really want to go after. If mostly FB guys are at the top the best BB box might fall all the way down to pick 10 or 12? You just never know which makes this not only a fun break to watch but also a fun draft experience! You think the top slot is spendy? Can you imagine having the top pick and choosing between a Gehrig or Ruth Cut Auto, a RC Auto Patch of Bush, Cutler, Peterson, Ryan, Forte, or any FB RC star of the last 3 years? Not to say we'll hit all those as every case can't be the best ever but what are the odds that we won't hit something spectacular in at least a few of these cases? A third of the slots are priced less than it costs to buy the cheapest box on the product list. Heck if you go out an buy a box of Exquisite or 08NT your already paying what it would cost to get a very high pick to get a choice in which box you will get rather than being stuck with the one you buy by yourself. One recommended strategy is to take a fairly high slot and combine it with a lower end slot in case you see a box you want to go after and with the extra slot you may have an easier time trading up to get it? Or if you are targeting a certain product you may want to be realistic and pick a draft slot that is priced around the same as that product costs. In other words...don't expect to pick up an Exquisite box with a $200 slot. It may happen, but be realistic about the slot you choose. The sum of funds collected equals the cost of the boxes plus $10 per slot for paypal and shipping fees to ship the whole contents of the box. To save on shipping they will be sent without the extra packaging of the larger box. In other words you'll get every card in the box but may not get the actual box packaging. All the breaks will appear on Youtube and then will be posted with scans of each boxes highlights on TCC followed by a big draft based on what slots you have purchased. I realize with the new format there may be questions so please let me know if I can clarify anything. Here are the hard details;

No, I have never done a USteam break due to all the clarity and cutting in and out issues that goes with it. It will be a Youtube break as are all the higher end breaks that we do.

Should be a fun one and the same cost as if you went out and bought one of these boxes on your own...but this way you get choices as to which box you want instead of being stuck with what you get when you buy it by yourself!

Ok guys...if you haven't reread the initial post please do so as this break has been changed to a two sport break (Football and Baseball) and each box now will be totally loaded. We added in another case of 2007 National Treasures and a mini case of Prime Cuts so we now have 41 boxes in all with 21 of them being Exquisite or National Treasures FB boxes! Also with 20 boxes of Prime Cuts...if you've seen some of these box breaks they have an amzing product with some huge huge hits so you can bet there will be some Prime Cuts boxes picked early which will mean you may (I can never guarantee what box someone ahead of you will select)... but you may end up with a National Treasures box choice all the way down at the $130 slot!
The break is composed of a product list that will help ensure everyone gets a great box but that the best boxes with AMAZING cards go to someone that paid more...and if there is such a thing as a dud box it will go to someone that paid about half of the usual box price with $115 being the lowest slot price.
All members have been contacted and it looks like almost all are staying in so lets fill this up and pull some amazing cards and have a fun draft as well.

I was more interested in what you pull from them on average not what the better hits are. I know thers some greats hits to be had but how far and few in between are those being pulled? Are most people getting what they pay for when buying the product?

While the deadline will remain March 14th I would prefer payment as soon as you are capable so we can start aquiring the products. If we can find some decent sales any extra funds collected will be returned as a % of your slot. Thanks Jason you can certainly switch to any open slot so I'll confirm #10. I can't really control if someone claims a slot and then backs out so all I can do is put the open slot back up for grabs. In this case you were first to claim it (even thought WestCoastSkinsfan asked about it) so I will confirm it for you. Also responded to your email...thanks again!

#10 slot is gone however the #11 slot is open for you if you are still interested. The only timeline is really when payment is due which is next weekend (March 14th). I am trying to collect payments sooner if possible but that's the date that was set. At that point we'll see if any others back out of slots and how many (if any) we need to back fill. If we look good after the 14th I'll start aquiring the cases and we can start the break (with 41 boxes it may be over a few days) on or around March 28th.

I went ahead and claimed the $175 slot. With the cost of Prime Cuts skyrocketing I'll probably have to use quite a bit of my own cash on this one to cover the higher costs so that may end up to be my slot in this one... we'll see?

Thanks for the well-wishes. The hope is that if this does go well we may shoot for doing it again. Hopefully starting with a bunch of repeat participants would help it fill faster but I guess we'll cross that bridge if/when we get to it.

Hey again guys...just a reminder that all those slots between $125-$170 that are incredible bargains (where can you buy any of these boxes for under $200 let alone under $150?) are open to other buyers if you like. I took most of those just to fill some slots but I'd rather not take 7 slots so if anyone is interested in picking up a bargain with one of those lower slots please just let me know.
As for the break...we are on schedule for breaking next week. We will be doing this over the course of 3 nights but until I have the Prime Cuts cases in hand I will have to hold off on an actual date. It could be as early as next Tuesday. We'll start with the 08NT and 2 Exquisite cases the first night, the two cases of 07NT the 2nd night, and the Prime Cuts the 3rd night. I'll then create another thread for the draft which if all goes well can start as early as the day after the last box is broken however I will need at least some set up time. In the new thread I will post the draft order along with which boxes are available. I will create a seperate post for each box containing the link to the video, scans of the hits, and list any other content highlights so you can take a good look at each box before deciding. Once we start the draft we will try to keep a 12 hour timelimit for each person if possible but will be hoping to keep it moving with faster picks if possible. I'll do all I can to notify people as the last thing I want to do is to have to bypass someone so I'll make sure all are aware of both the break and draft schedule ahead of time.

Hey guys...an update to the break. I am having to tweak the list as I just can't afford to take all the open slots so I am removing 3 open slots and removing 3 boxes (one box of 07NT and two boxes of Prime Cuts). This becomes a 38 box break and I chose those slots as they pretty much equal the cost of those 3 boxes so we are still balanced. That leaves 3 slots to be filled which I continue to try to recruit for. As I mentioned earlier if anyone wants any of my other slots (as cheap as $125) you are welcome to join us with any of those as well. The break will move forward with busting the boxes next week. Blowout is refusing to budge on a rediculous price (in my opinion) so I am still trying to work on that before I have the exact date but I do expect it to be next week as mentioned.

Things change quickly unfortunately and I just learned I have to be out of town on Friday so I editied the earlier post and will now be starting day 1 of the break this Thursday April 2.
The rest stays the same with day 2 on Saturday and finish up on Sunday with the draft starting hopefully by Monday afternoon if I can get everything set up by then.

Tileman is taking over the $160 slot and I have a couple other inquiries on other slots. If I sell one other slot I will be reinserting the $230 slot and bringing back the one box of 2007NT I had taken out in order for me to financially survive this break.
If you have interest in purchasing the $230 slot or moving up from an exisiting slot to that #19 slot please let me know. If it doesn't sell then I will take it. Again...this is ONLY if I can sell another slot to someone but so far it looks promising.

Not even I will guarantee that!
However...I will say that with this break structure and cost breakdown, more people in this break should come out ahead or break even compared to the average team based break. Boxes that have amazing cards will go to the top slots that payed more and the boxes that aren't as strong will go to people that paid 50-60% of the box cost so even they have a shot at coming out ahead. The mystery is in the middle rounds and I'm very curious to see how people do with those slots.

On the 28th I posted a change to the schedule...so tomorrow night is the two cases of 07NT and then Sat (Fri I'm out of town) is the Exquisite and 08NT followed by Prime Cuts on Sunday night.
The breaks will be similiar to my high end breaks where I will break on Youtube and use this same thread to unveil (with the link) each video one by one. If I get the time to take pics of the hits I'll be posting those following each box that we link here in this thread. If not I'll follow with those prior to the draft at the latest.
Only one slot left as I want to hold two slots myself but don't care which ones. Up for sale for the final slot is;
#24 - $190
#34 - $140
#35 - $135
As soon as one of those sells I will close the group out. If none sell I will buy all 3 for myself and we'll be good to go.

That's it for the first 12 boxes of the 39. Pretty solid start I'd say with some more big hitters coming Saturday night with the two cases of Exquisite and another 08NT case. Sunday we finish up with the 18 boxes of Prime Cuts.

Yeah...likewise with my Vikings. I got one card from the other break over two plus cases...this one has 3 Vikings in one pack! I did think of you after hitting after all those Brownies (after I thought sorry for myself of course) as I still have yet to pull MYSELF a Brady Quinn Auto in all the wax we've opened together!

NT08 should have one cut auto in the case, get that along with a Ryan/Flacco in the same pack and you'd have winner.
Playoff Baseball with the one sealed card and a few others probably has the best chance of hitting a single amazing card.
