To all new members, welcome to Trading Card Central! Here are a few tips on how to customize your TCC profile, provided by a variety of TCC Team members.

How do I add personal information to my profile?

At Trading Card Central, our members value maintaining the feel of a true trading community. In fact, many of our members are known on a first-name basis. In addition, the TCC Membership Team recognizes the members celebrating a birthday each day. Feel free to add your name and birthday to your profile. To do this:

1. Click the "My Controls" link in the member bar located toward the top of the TCC forum page.

2. Next, find the large "Menu" heading on the left. Scroll down, and click on the "Edit Profile" link.

3. Using the drop-down boxes next to "Your Date of Birth", fill in your birthday.

4. Type your first name in the "First Name" blank.

5. Click "Amend my profile".

Now, your name will appear each time you post. Your birthday will also appear on the TCC Calendar; this will allow members of the Membership to recognize you through their daily "TCC Birthdays" topics!

How do I add a link to my home page?

Editing your TCC profile also allows you to create a link to your home page. Many members choose to provide a link to their Photobucket or Freewebs site which showcases their personal collection and/or trade-list. In any case, please make sure the site which you provide a link to is family-friendly; TCC is proud of being a trading card site which any person of any age can enjoy. To set-up your home page link:


1. Click the "My Controls" link in the member bar located toward the top of the TCC forum page.

2. Next, find the large "Menu" heading on the left. Scroll down, and click on the "Edit Profile" link.

3. Enter the URL link to your website in the "Your website URL" blank.

4. Click "Amend my profile".

Now, a link in the form of a small "WWW" tab will appear each time you post. Any member who clicks on this tab will be directed to your website!

How do I add my interests to my profile?

Your TCC profile also includes a section which allows you to describe what you are interested in. These interest can range from sports cards, sports, family, religion, and other hobbies - anything that interests YOU. To add the things that interest you to your profile:

1. Click the "My Controls" link in the member bar located toward the top of the TCC forum page.

2. Next, find the large "Menu" heading on the left. Scroll down, and click on the "Edit Profile" link.

3. In the "Your interests" section, fill in what interests you.

Now, when a member views your profile, he/she can view the things that you are interested in. This can help fellow members find potential homes for new cards. It can also be a starting point for general conversations among collectors!

How do I add IDs for other sites (eBay, NAXCOM, etc) in my profile?

Your TCC profile also allows the option to enter your ID names for other sites, such as eBay, NAXCOM, and various instant messaging programs. To enter these IDs:

1. Click the "My Controls" link in the member bar located toward the top of the TCC forum page.

2. Next, find the large "Menu" heading on the left. Scroll down, and click on the "Edit Profile" link.

3. Enter the ID(s) you wish to be shown in the appropriate blank(s). Don't copy a link to your ID; simply type in the ID name. For example, if your eBay ID is "john_doe", enter "john_doe" into the eBay blank.

4. Click "Amend my profile".

How do I create a Custom Member Title?

Certain IDs will show whenever you post, such as eBay and NAXCOM. Others, such as instant messaging IDs, will only show in your profile.

Each TCC member who has at least one post can create a "Custom Member Title" that appears under his/her username. To create a Custom Member Title:

1. Click the "My Controls" link in the member bar located toward the top of the TCC forum page.

2. Next, find the large "Menu" heading on the left. Scroll down, and click on the "Edit Profile" link.

3. In the "Custom Member Title" blank (the first field on the page), enter your desired title.

Now, the chosen Custom Member Title will appear under your username both in your profile and each time you post!

How do I insert an avatar?

Your avatar is the picture that is viewable when you post on the forum. To add an avatar:

1. Go to My Controls
2. On the left side, under Personal Profile. Click on My Avatar.

From here there are 3 ways to insert an avatar. The first way is to:

1. On the right of Choose an avatar from one of our galleries, scroll through the different choices. Pick one of them and click go.
2. Select the picture you want and click "use selected avatar".

The second way is to:

1. Find a picture from the web (you can use yahoo, google, or any other search engines to find pictures).
2. Copy the URL
3. Paste it into "Enter a URL to an online avatar image"
4. Click "Update Avatar"

The third way is to:

1. Click on the browse button
2. Upload an image from your computer
3. Click on "Update Avatar"

* Remember, Your avatar must be no bigger than 100 pixels by 100 pixels in size. Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 50 KB.
The following file types are allowed: gif,jpg,jpeg,png
