I'm running out of hints at this point...
Here's what's been provided so far:
First hint: There's no "I" in...
Second hint: The number includes 2005.
Third hint: It's not the first time.
Fourth hint: 1 equals 26.
Fifth hint: Another equals 10.
Sixth hint: Next to last equals 25.
Seventh hint: Last equals 36.
Ok, let's do this...
It's safe to say (from the first hint) that the number relates to teams. From the fourth through seventh hints, you also know how many teams contribute to the number and their portion.
Any new guesses?

Heat, spurs, pistons, suns.

If you can believe it, we have a winner!
Counting the 2005 playoffs, the 4 remaining teams (at the time of the initial post) have been to the playoffs 97 times during their franchise history.
Here's the breakdown:
Miami - 10
Phoenix - 25
San Antonio - 26
Detroit - 36
Congratulations, te23!
Your prize will be shipped tomorrow or Monday.
