Hello Everyone,

I've been on here in the past, but it's been some time, I transitioned my collection to full game used items, but have sometime ago changed back as I found that even though the items that I was obtaining were cooler and nicer, I just did not get as much enjoyment out of it like I did cards. Reason #1, the items are more expensive and they come a lot less frequently.

So with that being said, I have gone back to cards. In the past I've worked on sets and done some on and off player collecting, but through it all I have worked on 2 main sets, 2003 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket Set (This is where the people that have been on this forum for awhile may remember me from.) and 2003 Skybox LE Rare Form Jerseys - Base Style. So through my many sell offs of my collection, I have kept every single one of those cards from both of those sets that I have ever owned.

Either way, the reason that I have come to work on this 2003 Football Master Set and will continue to focus strictly on this, likely forever, is that the 2003 year was the year that I honestly would have to say I had the most fun collecting cards. There was a great rookie crop, Palmer, Leftwich, Grossman at QB, Andre Johnson, Anquan Boldin, and Charles Rogers at WR, and Willis McGahee and Larry Johnson at RB. Not to mention the players that have come to stand out from that year in Tony Romo and Troy Polamalu.

But the ultimate reason that I enjoyed that year so much is because of the time that I was able to spend with my dad trying to build these sets, though I never completed any... always moving on to the next set once I got so close to completing one. And now since my dad passed a few years ago, it's more or less a way to keep connected.

So now with the background all out there, I'm going to start off this thread by posting a few of the cornerstones of my collection as of today, and I will keep updating it at least on a weekly basis with some of the key additions of the week or day.

(As of today, there are over 8,900 unique cards from this year in the collection.)

Oh and as always, if you have any cards that you have that you do not see in my photobucket (which is updated every 2-3 days) and you are looking to move please send me a message on here, and hopefully we can work something out.

Not a whole lot of additions arrived this week, but I did pick up a few low numbered cards, including a Carson Palmer 1/1, which should be here early next week. With the additions below, it brought the collection to a few cards above 9,000 unique football cards from the 2003 year.

PM sent, I have to admit that Skybox LE was my favorite set too of the year. It seemed like such a huge after thought, as I think it came out in January almost February at $60.00 a box and each box included a rookie normally, but if you were lucky, you got 2. The interesting part is that even at $60.00 a box, just a no name rookie was running $10.00 a pop steadily into the summer just because of the low print run of 99 rookies. At the time I thought it was going to be Fleer's last hurrah set, as they were on the brink of bankruptcy at that point, but somehow managed to pull through another year.

Had two more additions yesterday, this should be the last few singles I will get for a few weeks as I picked up a good number of base sets, which has depleted my card budget until the next paycheck

Haven't had an addition in awhile as auctions and cards that I'm looking to add are starting to slow down with the end of the football season. However, I did add one of the Rookie Hidden Gems this week, which I was pretty happy about. I have a McGahee on the way, but it still hasn't arrived after about a week and a half of payment...

Haven't been on much lately as things have been busy at work, but I have had quite a few additions, some of which I can note show as I ran out of thin toploaders, but I will show a few new additions and keep the other additions for when some more thin toploads come in.

Been awhile again since I posted, because I still haven't pulled together the funds to get two more cases of toploaders. Once I get those in, I will have a scanning bonanza, and likely a good chunk of additions to post to the thread, which includes 6 1/1's. I did pick up a few thick cards, which I had toploaders for on hand. Nothing special, but just a few more additions:

Nothing too special made it's way into the collection this week, but I have three SP Authentic Gold Parallels coming in tomorrow, which is probably my favorite parallel set, excluding the Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket Set.

On the bright side, I added the entire 2003 Topps Base Set, which took the collection to over 10,000 unique cards from the 2003 Football Card Year!!! I should have a good lot of jersey cards coming in later this week/early next week from COMC. Definitely one of the best tools when trying to add cheaper jersey cards at a low shipping cost.

This is one of the nicer pieces I've added in awhile. These jersey number sets always seem to be highly collectible, so I was glad to pick this one up with a BIN numbered to 5.

Finally the best part, a BIG SHOUT OUT to Bob (road_runner_1964) for pitching in 40 SPx rookie cards that I was missing from the 2003 SPxset. This definitely helped fill up some holes, and here are some of the highlights:

That's usually how it goes with this collection, I pick up a good number of shorter print cards for one star or another as people are selling off their player collections. If only I could afford to pick up the cards of the guys that are still playing in chunks like this...

Well I added nearly 400 cards to the set today, but it will be a few days before I have everything uploaded onto Photobucket. With that being said, I pulled two cards that are probably my favorite additions from the whole lot and here they are:

I had many shorter print cards, but these were by far my favorite additions to the 2003 collection. The overall design of the 2003 Finest Set was nice and clean, and was only made up of the base set and parallels of that set. Very Simple.
