why are you saying the panthers have jimmy clausen..he is not available in any of the products you're doing? only in 2010 stuff...and i also dont understand why you did silent bids starting at $65 when there were still some good teams out there...and now the remaining teams aren't too great and the price for them was upped to $75?

I agree with what you said about Jimmy Clausen he won't be in any of the products in this break. On the other hand I don't think $75 is bad at all for any team in a break like this. I mean 4 boxes of Exquisite, 2 boxes of national treasures, and 1 other mid range box to be named. All you need is one nice hit and you have your money back and some of those teams have some potential. The Seahawks have Largent who seems to be pulled out of every case I see along with Curry and Butler. I know they won't sell extremely high unless you get a 1/1 or a nice low numbered Largent but there is a chance at a big hit for cheap. Last month the only team not taken was the Bengals and they had 7 cards to random which I know weren't all highend but I won a random for a national treasures andre Caldwell that sold for $30. He upped the price to $75 because no one should be able to get into this highend of a break for $65 and no one was bidding very high on the silent bids. If all teams are going to be sold that low it is going to kill his breaks because no one is going to purchase many of the teams until the silent bids come around. I mean if I would of known it was going to be like this I would of dropped the Bears, Raiders, and Cardinals and just picked them up in the silent bids for $30 less than I paid for them originally which would of saved me $90. I mean does anyone on here think the Steelers should of went for as low as it did. I mean $77 for a team with so many great HOF pulls available along with some nice rookies and current players. In the mixed highend products we are breaking the steelers should have been one of the first teams taken. Well if I had more money to put into this break I would buy more teams just for a shot at something big for a great price. I mean I see people pay $110 for the Steelers in a case break of exquisite and that is only 3 boxes now we are getting 4 exquisite boxes, 2 NTs, and a mid ranger and they go for $77. There is just something wrong with that and I guarantee there were 3 or 4 people that put bids in on them but no one went over $75. This is just my opinion but I think that is why he put a $75 limit on teams and if I remember rightly he said next month $75 will be the minimum silent bid which I think is fair but that might just be me.

Nick.... Two reasons behind that.

1. I say the Panthers have Jimmy Clausen, because you are allowed to keep your team from month to month, and as Kevin (kpit1978) and Bob (roadrunner) discussed earlier in the thread, teams like the Panthers, Browns, Rams, Broncos are going to be more sought after now because of their newly drafted big name quarterbacks. And while yes, there are not any 2010 products being busted this month, one can get ahead of the game by calling dibs on the team now. That way when the 2010 products ARE involved, people aren't rushing to say, "OH, I better pick up the Panthers," and then look at the page and be shocked that someone already possesses them. It's all very strategic. The only reason a 2010 product hasn't been busted yet is because of the lack of quality product being released yet (that and the fact not many people voted for one this month)

2. The reason teams are available at $75 right now purchase value is the same reason there are auction-style and Buy-It-Now on eBay. I can't control what the silent-bids go for. I have to make a reasonable minimum bid, and then whatever people bid is what it goes for. There could be some steals, like a few of the teams that only went for $65, and maybe one or two that went for around $70 or so, but that could easily be changed by people bidding more. As already described Nick, the minimum bid is going up to $75 next month, just because of how cheap everyone was with their bids this month haha. I mean, you put in 1 bid, but it was at $65. At least get creative and bid like $65.01 or something like that, if you are going to bet that little. I'm just saying.

You could have retained your cardinals for this month too, there would have been a nice shot at some Leinart, Hightower, and Beanie Wells RC Stuff...

Next month is only going to be more selective though. I'm doing everything from my part, to balance the cost of all the quality teams. Quality Control....

Chris you are totally right though. I would have never thought a team like the Steelers would have went for $77. As you and I discussed, I went from 4 purchased teams to 2 purchased teams this month to give people a chance at some of the better teams, and then they go unclaimed! There is nothing I can do about that. Eagles, Steelers, Titans, Browns, Ravens, Bucs, Seahawks, Panthers, Jaguars, Bengals, Texans, Saints all beacme available for purchase this month, and no one hopped on the opportunity. That is out of the break host's reach. I just crunch the numbers.

But next month, the simplest way to solve this, is to just drive up the prices on the silent bids, so that more people purchase the quality teams before we get to silent bids. And if no one wants to raise their bids, then we will just have some AWESOME teams go unclaimed and have some even nicer hits to random off for all the guys that do go above and beyond to purchase some great teams. As we go on too, we'll pick up more regulars, and more teams will become sought after, and there will be more wealth to spread around, with top rookies from the past 5 years all available then!

If you end up wanting to pick up a team at $75 (some of the teams i think you originally were gonna pay much more for!), any of the six teams would love to have Bob's name on them... I still do have that Matt Baker RC for ya too btw.

Well if we did it Wednesday I would like it to be later because my son starts baseball Wed and my daughter also has softball that day so I won't get home until 7:30 Central time.
