Hi again all. It's Football season and time to start planning our September group break! I will post the "proposed product list" below but it will certainly be up for debate as this is just a starting point so let me know your opinions. In fact I'm not that hot on this list as I think it includes too many mid-range boxes that I'd be busting "old school" rather than video so if you would prefer a different selection please chime in!

I will note your interest but because it got too complex to try to maintain a waiting list for specific teams in the different groups I have discontinued the waitlist for specific teams. basically if they open up I will email everyone who has expressed interest in them and first come first serve. If before I get a chance to email people someone else claims them on the thread then they get the team. Not the most popular method but one I felt necessary to do. Feel free to PM me your email address if you want on that distribution list. Thanks!

As far as product list.
I personally don't care for Topps Chrome either, but to try it out for the new year is fine.
To be selfish, I would love to see 08 Exquisite or NT. I would love to get Felix Jones auto RC from these sets. But, any set that has a chance for an Emmitt Smith auto is just fine. The one I'm really after. Do we still need to wait for these prices to go down?
I'm done getting Stanback and Carpenter cards.
Man, I wish Cowboys knew how to draft better.

One of the things I most like about this Group Break is the fact that we break low, mid & hi end products. I like splitting the money between products, & getting a good variety. Even if I don't get a "mega hit", I'll at least get something.
I don't want this break to migrate towards more premium material. One high end box per month, whether NT or Exquisite, is sufficient in my opinion. (That one box eats up almost 40% of our budget each month as it is) For those who love this kind of product, Chris has established both the Hi End breaks as well as the periodic "Big Break".
By keeping the variety, hopefully every member of the break can be pleased with the product, as least every couple of months!
Just my 2 cents!

Don't get me wrong. I do agree. I like the variety of products.
I wasn't implying to replace Chrome with another high end product.
I was just stating my preference with 08, other than 06 with high end.

I would agree that I would like to include 08 or even 09 products to be the one for a high end box but 06NT at $335 versus $450-$490 for 08 NT or Exquisite swayed me. I don't think we necessarily need to wait to include 08NT or Exquisite but merely keep an eye out for when they go on sale, etc..

That was what I figured. Not being able to buy those high end boxes, I didn't know the difference in price. I figured it would be best to wait for the prices to go lower. We don't want to use most of the budget on 1 box.
I have no problems with the product line-up, and as always look forward to the break.

Just one more note on the multi-player hits. We had decided that we would continue with the current format of awarding the card to the team owner of the player either on top or on the left of the card unless of course a particular team is represented more than any other on the card. However, I don't think we addressed the multiple team ownership angle. If a card has 3 different teams on it but one collector happens to own 2 out of the 3 teams pictured...does that trump the positioning on the card? I believe it should however I'd like to hear opinions on that. I still believe multiple players from the same team should outweigh when a person owns multiple teams but if team representation on the card is equal I think we should go with the collector who owns the most teams represented as opposed to strictly positioning on the card. Does that make sense? Let me know what you think?

I got mine from DACardworld and they now have told me 9/23 but either way it probably won't get here in time. I'll see what we can do but we may have to proceed without it and break it when it arrives. I'll see if we have time to add a replacement and use SPx next month?

Good point! This months product list will give us more base than usual so please let me know if you want your base cards this month (and on an on-going basis). I have no trouble sending base out but won't bother if you have no interest. I'll start a more reliable list than I currently have so I shouldn't have to ask again but please let me know either way.

Sorry about the delay on the 09SPx but I finally got the DC# from Blowout (1Z82RW330374718933) and it's expected to be delivered Tuesday so I'll shoot for finishing up that last box on Tuesday night. Cards are being held until then so they can all be sent together.

I always do. I just went through a good couple hundred serial numbered inserts from the late 90's, etc. and still have yet to come up with a 264.

Box has arrived and was waiting for me as I just got home. The catch is that my wife had to take our 3 year old to urgent care just as a precaution with a high fever and she's got the camera with her. I'll hold off to see if it will be less than a couple hours and if so I'll can just do an old school pack by pack summary...or if you'd prefer to wait until later tonight I can go for the video.
