Well...I've been coming once in a while to see if any gamers show up, and I've not seen any posts here other than a couple of trade offers. Any other gamers? If so, can we get some talk going?

Thanks,
DJ

DJ,
Maybe I'll drop some of those cards in some of these sports guys stockings and get them interested in playing. But some of them are down right stubborn!

LOL...I understand stubborn...I just wish the few gamers out here would get some discussion going. I know that there are issues that are game specific, but I'd like to see some hobby talk about the card game hobby...if there are things worth discussing across the games.

Thanks,
DJ

That's just it...it's hard enough to get gamers to take time out to be in another board. I'll see what I can do, but without some other gamers already here, we probably will not get many new members.

I understand, DJ. It's the standard "chicken and egg" issue. wink.gif

Please just let me know if there's anything we can do to reach out to this area of the hobby better.

I've been playing Madden like it's going out of style.....I'm in my 6th season...and frankly, I'm bored with the game right now. I'm saving my pennies to get Brothers in Arms 2 and Call of Duty 2.....I love the WWII based shooters.

DJ,

It looks like our work is cut out. laugh.gif

Guys,

"Gamers", as used here, refers to those who are playing any of the TCG or CCG games, not video games. laugh.gif

I might be interested in learning one of the card based games if they would come out with a WW II based game...something to do with war strategy and such.........but after watching the cartoons for Yu Gi Oh and some of the others I can tell that those type of games just ain't my cup of tea.

I like classic RPG's (just picked up some hard-to-find stuff Christmas Eve in fact cool.gif ), but the card games never caught my interest. I was looking to trade for some for a while, but no one took me up...so there you have it..

Actually...a gamer in the strictest of terms. I start with Redemption CCG (and a few other CCGs including Star Wars) as my primary gaming preference. Then, I continue to strategy board games like Settlers of Catan, RoboRally and Diplomacy. That is followed closely by set card games like Bang!, Fluxx, Rook and Pit. Next, I gravitate towards video/computer games, the current favorite of which is World of Warcraft.

In the context of this discussion, as previously stated, assume I'm looking to find other players of Collectible/Customizable Card Games (a.k.a. - CCGs). With all the collectors around here, I'm quite surprised that the idea of having cards you can both collect and play with hasn't caught on a little more.

For those of you who have not checked them out in any serious way, if you are interested in going beyond the boredom of Yugioh or Pokemon (2 of the most widely played CCGs), let me know, and I'll see what I can find. Some of the best CCGs ever made are currently out of print, but they are therefore easy to get for relatively cheap.

I hope this answered your question, but if not, ask again, and I'll see what I can come up with to further explain myself.

Thanks,
DJ

I think the reason alot of us (collectors) don't collect these cards is we have no others to interact with (play againest). I see no reason me personally to buy cards that don't interest me and have no one to either explain or teach me.
I have a comic store in town and they play magic and one other one. But I can't just take off or worse take my 3 sons (no pun intended) to a comic shop to learn or play. I got into yugi and duel masters because the cards of yugi and duel masters is pretty simplistic on how to play. But with no one to play againest, I dropped them. It doesn't make anyone bad that is just not their preference. I would love to see more players here! Maybe I would give it a try. If anything I could just stop again. Some of the games are very indepth and I just don't have the time for. I do love alot of the board games they are geared like the CCG's but again. No one to share with. I doubt I would collect sports cards if there weren't sites like this to share my collections with. OK well maybe not AS much as I do now! biggrin.gif

But you never know who you might get to join the ranks with making threads as these! smile.gif

I'm in the same boat.....living in this town there's simply no other players here....their idea of a card game involves poker chips and Texas Hold 'em. I would love to see a WW II based CCG...that's something I could get into.
