Collector Zone _ OpenChecklist _ Now available on Openchecklist

Posted by: nerk01 Dec 18 2008, 08:57 AM

Check out the new "Get Started" section which will contain flash demos on How to use Openchecklist.

I posted the first one last night which shows how to add cards to your inventory and wantlist.

Let me know what you think!

Jon,

I couldn't access the flash demo. It said 2 were coming soon. I saw where the text said Add Cards but there was just blank white screen where I'm assuming the hot key should be. I'm not on my home computer at the moment so my problem could be due to network restrictions.

Great idea. Definitely a step in the right direction.

Jon,

The idea is great and such demos would be very, very helpful!

From an initial attempt to watch the demo this morning at home and then at work, it appears that some adjustments should be made to the size of the demo - both in terms of resolution and actual file size.

The demo was taking a long time to load on my home connection (cable modem).

I'm assuming you resized it because it looks great. Very helpful, indeed. The load time wasn't too long(cable modem); however, if there are several flash demos that will be loading when we go to that particular page, is that going to cause the page to load slowly? Would it be more practical to have hot keys that launch the demos? Just wondering because new users would be most likely to use the demos and they might be discouraged by the amount of time it takes to load....or even dissuaded from using the program all together.

I had not changed it, but I tried out a different program.

Check out the new one and let me know what you think.

This 2nd one is a bit smaller, but has better controls. If you go fullscreen you get better picture quality.

I tend to use this thing they call "The Wife". Sometimes it takes too much begging to make it happen tho.

can add it as a codicil to the decree.

Great Idea...

though mine's been buffering for the last 15 minutes on broadband so I've lost patience. Are you sure screentoaster is the best site ?

Can you possibly host directly on Openchecklist ?

(I have some time this Xmas to look into things so let me know if you need help)

Screentoaster doesn't have the ability to save the video yet. I also tried using Cam Studio. Cam studio allowed me to host the swf on Openchecklist, but the file size is double the size of the screentoaster file.

Without spending money Screentoaster seems to be the best option available right now.

Tried to see if any of the video scalping websites out there could retrieve the file, but no dice.

Jon,

Determine which tool would work best and then send me an e-mail with a link to that tool. I'll see what I can do about purchasing a license. wink.gif
