I have a redemption in for a dual auto from 09 Ultimate Baseball. The actual redemption card I pulled said the card was #'d to 8. When I entered the code into their website a couple months ago it also said the card was #'d to 8.

Tonight, I go in to check the status and it says the card is being shipped...HOWEVER it says this:

"DENNIS ECKERSLEY / KEVIN YOUKILIS
2009 BASEBALL ULTIMATE COLLECTION ULTIMATE DUAL SIGNATURES # ED TO 8 CD # UDS-8. Error on redemption, card is numbered to 39 not 8."

The bold part is what I'm asking about. They did not email me saying anthing about this issue nor does it look like they are doing anything to make up for the error. What would you do?

They did the same thing with the Shonn Greene sp autentic patch rc. It said 969 on the card and when I redeemed it said error #dout of 999. Apparently they cant get there redeemers right either

I think at this point one is lucky to get anything back from Upper Deck. They goofed up the Hockey RC redemptions from last years Be a Player and sent wrong cards to everyone (was off of Artifacts redemption checklist I guess). They were supposed to fix that but being they were numbered to 99 not sure how they thought they could do that unless only half of the redemptions out there. They keep delaying Hockey releases (Ice has been pushed back like four times in 3 months, which makes me wonder if they not going to be around shortly, but maybe they not going to way of Fleer yet.

yeah, it just urks me that they claim a card to be as rare and only 8 and now they produced 39.

Gary, take your lumps and be happy. Numbered out of 8 vs 39 is a little bit of a difference, but not enough that I think they will do anything. Only way to find out is call and ask what happened. Maybe they changed the numbering to get rid of all of the extra baseball autos they are not allowed to insert into products since they lost their licensing.

First....why number a card to 39?

Second....complaining to UD probably won't do much good now (with the position they are in) but it might be worth a try. I would consider a drop from 8 to 39 a fairly large jump.

This was my 1st thought as soon as I read your original post. It is ###### but it is UD. I am shocked you are actually getting anything w/o a 3 year wait but them pulling that crap is shady. Again, it is UD tho so I would expect nothing less. Nothing shocks me with them anymore unless you would actually get something better than you are supposed to. (NEVER GUNNA HAPPEN)

I look at it as there was a error with the redemption. Have you ever made a error on anything? It happens! Like many have said before I would just be happy to have gotten it!

I have had them go both ways!

I had one supposed to be ten turn out to be 3

and one numberd to a billion turn out to be a trillion!

An interesting point though In 09-10 Exquisite basketball almost all redemptions had the printed out part scratched thru and a handwritten number pencilled in.. Didnt matter for those either as almost none of them were even fulfilled! I lost Paul Pierce auto a couple of rookies a david west and a Yao Ming auto!

Still very unprofessional to muck up that many redemptions! Maybe that has led some sports to cease dealing with UD?

My guess is that this is probably due to staff cuts and people who did one job, now doing two or more. That is what I would blame it on based on all the recent topics about UDs financial issues and lawsuits.

I'm not saying I'm unhappy about getting the redemption. Just saying it's frustrating.

I waited over a year for the 08 Icons Favre redemption, now it's been a year waiting on an 08-09 Ultimate Basketball redemption for a Cook/Beasley/Zo triple auto. Redemptions are downers when you find out your hit is not even in the box. These boxes are far from cheap, it would be nice if some of these companies recognized that. Expired redemption? Too bad. I think you should at least get something for those.
