Hey guys, it's been over a year since we tried to put together a BIG BREAK and with FB season solidly underway and the high end products still a couple months away from release I figured this would be as good a time as any to give it a shot. On to the products; I want to focus on Exquisite but with 08 scarce I replaced it with 08NT. I also eliminated the case of 2010 Exquisite which was originally planned just in the interest of keeping a reasonable budget. 3 Boxes in each case should provide plenty of nice hits for all involved and team ownership will first be offered to those owners in the monthly High End break so I appreciate your patience as I confirm people's participation. You can certainly speak up if you want to be a back up for a particular team while we wait.!

Hey guys, it's been over a year since e tried to put together a BIG BREAK and with FB season solidly underway and the high end products still a couple months away from release I figured this would be as good a time as any to give it a shot. The format for this one is a mix of silent bidding, draft the best card style with a bit of luck involved. This is what I'm thinking;

We'll have a total of 30 draft slots in this break. once all 5 cases are broken we will hold a draft picking in order the single card you want to select when it's your turn. This will be a snake draft however the top 5 slots (which are all paying more through the silent auction) will be at the top of every round while the remaining 25 slots snake in order from the top to the bottom and then bottom to the top the next round. For example;

Round 1:
Picks 1-30 in order

Round 2:
Picks 1-5 followed by picks #30-6 in that order

Round 3:
Picks 1-30 in order

Hopefully that makes sense but this is extra incentive for the top 5 slots to sell fairly high so the rest of the 25 slots will be more affordable. Since we have 5 high end cases to break this also ensures that each of the top 5 slots will have a case hit to pick if they choose.

The remaining 25 slots will be a flat price (final price determined after we know how much is generated from the top 5 slot auction) and the draft order of those slots will be determined randomly. That means you pay the same low amount and could end up with the #6 pick! The format for this randomizing is to be determined but rather than let random.org determine it I'm thinking maybe we could have some fun with it like picking NFL results for a particular week so we can all see the results as they happen.

So to get started, we need to determine the slot prices and the top 5 slots are put out for silent bidding. Bidding will remain open until Tues Nov 15th but payment won't be required until Nov 28th. Since we have 5 slots to auction off, I ask that when you submit bids you specify your bid for each particular slot. If you just want the highest slot available for your bid price let me know that as well. I will do my best to notify you if you have been outbid but can't guarantee that I will get to you. Remember, if you end up in the top 5, you guarantee yourself a case hit plus are at the top of each round we pick!

On to the products; I want to focus on Exquisite but with 08 scarce I replaced it with 08NT. 3 Boxes in each case should provide plenty of nice hits for all involved and with the random draft order on #6-30 you could end up with some great deals!

This is not a "team" break but a slot based draft format. We break all 5 cases and when nit's your turn in the draft order you pick which card you want. Next round you do the same until we run out of cards. Hope that makes sense?

Getting some bids in and just to clarify...the winning bid price will be the full amount that is bid so we don't go with the min amount of $5 over the next highest bidder. Bid what you are willing to pay as it will be that full amount if you win a slot. Good luck all!

Hey folks...I'm crunching the numbers and need to make a change to this format. Rather than 30 total slots we need to have 35. The top 5 are still determined by silent auction and those are due by this Tuesday night. The other 30 draft slots will be a flat price as originally described but the added 5 slots will allow us to keep the cost low and more realistically fill the break. For anyone that has submitted bids, if this changes your bid amount or participation please let me know prior to the deadline of Tuesday night Nov 15th.

Ok folks, original post has been updated with the final order of our top 5 based on the silent bids. The rest of the slots are now up for sale for $130 for the 1st and $125 for each additional. We will determine the order of those 30 slots by picking the results of an NFL week of games but which week will be determined by when we fill and receive payments. For that price of $130 you could end up with slot #6 which is less than half of the cost of slots #4 or 5. First come fist serve but alot of slots to fill so let's see who's interested??

I can tell you we generated a total of $2130 from the top 5 slots. Total budget with shipping on this works out to $6100 so that leaves 30 slots to cover the remaining $3970 breaking down to $132 per slot. Spendy break but great opportunities with 5 high end cases!
