I got a pack of 2005 Bowman Sterling off of eBay -- came in the mail today. Overall, not bad, but nothing that I was overly excited about, either:

Brad Eldred -- Auto/Jersey
Matt Albers -- Auto
Rafael Furcal -- Refractor/Jersey -- 075/199
Brett Hayes First Year Card
Billy Butler First Year Card

Like I said, it could have been worse.

Wow - nice pulls for one pack. Was this a "hot pack" advertised on Ebay. Seems like you beat some odds.

I paid $43 for the pack. According to the wrapper, each pack should have one relic, one autograph, and one autograph/relic (plus the two base cards). Like I said it could have been worse, but I certainly wasn't jumping for joy about any of these. I think I maybe just got my hopes up too much.

I did a little homework on Matt Albers (because I've honestly never heard of many of these prospects before) -- sounds like he's doing well in Double-A right now (10-2, 1.98 ERA, 84 K, 104.1 IP), but he has some off the field issues. If he can stay out of trouble, that card might do better in the long run than I'd originally thought....

Oh, and Billy Butler is doing well at Triple-A right now too.

I can buy these for $20 a pop at Shopko!

I collect all cards of Ernie Sims (77/460=16.74%), Brett Favre (321/11536=2.78% :P), and Alando Tucker (14/398 = 3.51%)

Those aren't the hobby packs though. I'm not sure what the difference is, but there must be one.... Anyone know?

They are exactly the same I think, except you dont get a regular auto just a g/u and a g/u + auto and 2 base...I got a Jacoby Ellsbury g/u auto, and a Derrek Lee bat card.

Interesting.... I'll have to look at investing in some of those cheaper packs.
