(The Bigs) Manning, Brady, etc filed lawsuits against the league owners for not revealing or being completely transparent about everything in the revenue books. This is gonna get uglier. I predict no NFL this season. Greed raises it ugly head again. Guess I will watch some real Futbol...Rooney, Rinaldo and company this season.

No NFL. A dream come true.

There will be no football during a lockout. Replacement players are only used if there is a players strike. During a lockout, the NFL ceases operations.

The NFL has locked out the players, which means teams cannot make any player transactions, and players and coaches cannot contact each other. Essentially, the league is not allowing the teams and players to do any kind of business at all.

It's looking very much like there won't be a season.

did anybody read this? the same people they want to take money from wants them to skip the draft? I don't think so. (side note, i am not on anyone's side per say, i like things from both the NFLPA and the owners)

I've been trying to keep up on this as much as possible, and I have to say I'm disappointed with both sides, but for different reasons. The NFL seems to be trying to be shady and under-handed, while blaming the NFLPA; and the players are just being lazy and slow to react.

They're trying to put the blame on each other and they're both waiting for each other to bring the table to them; neither wants to go to the table. The NFL wants to continue bargaining with the union that no longer exists, and the players' reps are directing the NFL to the court case (Brady vs NFL).

I do think it's a bit ridiculous that Smith is trying to tell the prospects to skip the draft. It's a once-in-a-lifetime event that these talented young men get to participate in and they're being told to skip it, which puts them in a bad situation. They obviously wouldn't want to miss this, but they also may not want to disrespect the group that represents them.
