A few days ago (on Friday 28 Sep I think it was) I got a part of one of my sportlots auction orders. The 1988 Toys "R" Us Baseball Rookies Set with the box. I already had the 1989 version, and thought this would be pretty cool to have.

Oh then on Saturday I received again from sportlots only this time a regular order:

1976 Wonder Bread Football Jack Youngblood (14) Rams

I got some stuff for the PC from the Bay and from Sportlots regular orders and some auctions in 5 or 6 envelopes/packages. All were baseball except two Basketball.


It came from an Ebay Auction it arrived in a toploader but no penny sleeve, that is better than the other way around.

The thing that really annoyed me with this shippment of 1980 cards (from a sportslot.com auction) was they weren't well protected in the bubble mailer (at least it wasn't a regular envelope) they had no penny sleeves or toploaders, they were just placed in two piles sandwiched between two pieces of lightweight cardboard (about the thickness of the cardboard back of a pad of notebook paper or a legal pad). The cardboard was taped together and the cards were at least wrapped in the order invoice for the auction.

On Monday (24 Sept) I received an order from sportslot.com I was waiting on. A Roman Gabriel 1991 Pro Set World League "Collectible" card #24 (Inserted in 1991 Pro Set NFL packs).


Roman is my fave all-time Ram Quarterback.*
I didn't realize it would be coming from Canada. Anyway I thought it was a card I didn't have but it turns out I had it (I have the full World League Set, but not all of the Inserts which are slightly different), but my older card had a surprise. Little did I know what I had always assumed was some odd GatorAde spray caught on film, seems to be some sort of photo damage to the card. I never thought anything of it because it was the only copy of the card I had and it didn't look like damage. Oh well.



*I was told a few years ago that when I was 3 or 4 my family was worried there was something wrong with me because I didn't talk much, so I was sent for testing at an Easter Seals Medical Clinic for hearing tests and other such nonsense. I remember some of those visits. Anyway apparently just when my folks thought I might be deaf or something else, one of the physicians there noticed my doodling pictures of little football men (mostly of a quarterback with the number #18 on his chest), and discovered that I was a big Los Angeles Rams fan and that Roman Gabriel (#18) was my favorite QB. Well then they found out I didn't have any physical problem, I was just extremely shy.
