Collector Zone _ News and Announcements _ Milestone: 2,000,000 Posts!

Posted by: bob_TCC Apr 24 2009, 11:27 PM

I wanted to take a moment to mention this...

The TCC Collector Zone just reached another milestone when we passed 2,000,000 posts!

Thanks to each and every one of you that have chosen to join the Collector Zone! Each of you help to make TCC an amazing site!

Thanks also to the men and women who volunteer their time to help as members of the TCC Team!

While this is certainly a major milestone, it's just another moment in an incredible journey that began just over 4 years ago! So, we'll take a brief pause to enjoy this milestone, but then we're going to jump right back in and continue to do what we can to make TradingCardCentral.com the leading site for trading card collectors! wink.gif

For those that are fascinated by numbers, here's the breakdown of posts by year:

2005 29794
2006 342761
2007 666006
2008 756435
2009 205040

Nice!!! Hope to be here for 3,000,000...

To date for the year, here are some more useless numbers;

04/24/09 was the 114th day of the year....based on that the numbers look like this

1798.5964 posts per day
74.94 posts per hour
1.249 posts per minute.

Which means that we should hit the 3,000,000th post in about 555.989 days if everything remains the same. I'll leave it up to someone else to figure out what date that is. We should start a pool to see how close to the date, hour, minute that the 3,000,000th post hits. Should have a heck of a prize package built up by then if someone wanted to host and hold the package for the winner. LOL

I was surprised when I ran the numbers for 2008 compared to this year so far, the site was actually busier with posting than we have been to this point this year. Even with with growth it appears that the site is actually slowing down.

We are indeed going through a "valley". There's multiple factors contributing to that and I'll actually be discussing those further in an announcement in the near future.

With that said, there's also work underway on multiple fronts to come out of this period better and stronger! wink.gif

Also, we've probably been a little spoiled by the rather incredible rise that the Collector Zone has experienced in such a short time. At times, I still can't really believe what we've accomplished already - using a "formula" that is rather unique.

Well, I don't know how to respond to that!

Let's just say that I can't wait!

Wow congrats ALL OF TCC!

Now the next question related to this (for those who are good with numbers and such) is what is the average number of posts per person? Or is that stat already figured out somewhere?
