You never know right! Maybe he is getting around to hitting the mail stack and yours is just waiting for him to do.

It was nice to get back since I didn't do any hockey TTM requests yet this season.

I got a card back today signed by Keith Tkachuk. He was kind enough to add the extra postage and my old mail man had it forwarded to our new address since I sent out my letter to him FOUR years ago. I really thought that was a dead request, but I guess he got around to his mail after all.

Very cool story. Good for you man, that must have been neat!

I also have heard he is very nice to his fans. My friend used to work security at a large arena and Vanilla Ice played there once during the height of his career. He got to meet him and said he shook all the staffs hands, asked their names, and thanked them personally.

Sweet return from the Golden Jet. I tried him c/o the Hawks a few years ago and got nothing. Maybe I should try again.

That picture looks good from any angle, but please feel free to post it again from other angles for us to get the "full feel" of it.

Good one with Kemp. I wonder if Office Max sells neon orange envelopes? It might help get my letters noticed more.

QUOTE(cardcrazed @ Jul 12 2010, 11:00 PM)
Does anyone happen to know the NY Giants address? I want to send Jim Sorgi a card to sign! I appreciate any help!

Justin
*

Here is the info straight from the Giants website....

From our experience, the best time to obtain autographs from players is during training camp each year. Aside from the annual "Meet the Giants" event, which allows for fans to obtain autographs, players do spend several minutes each day signing autographs on their return from practice.

If you're unable to make it up to camp, then you may wish to send the item you wish to have autographed, along with appropriate return postage, to the individual player at Giants Stadium AT YOUR OWN RISK. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE GIANTS ORGANIZATION IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ITEMS SENT TO PLAYERS, INCLUDING THOSE TO BE AUTOGRAPHED. FURTHERMORE, SHIPPING AN ITEM TO A PLAYER DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE PLAYER WILL SIGN AND RETURN IT.

Again, the best time to obtain autographs and confirm it's authenticity is to get them directly from the player(s) and we find that training camp is the best time to do that.

If you would still like to ship an item to be autographed, please send it along with return postage to:

New York Football Giants
ATTN: (Player's Name)
Giants Stadium
East Rutherford, NJ 07073

Thank you,

Thank you.

I am not sure how many guys had a crush on Linda Carter back in the day. She filled out her wonder Woman costume very well wink.gif

She signed my card in about 2 months time. I didn't ask for a photo, but good to see that she will send you one if you provide the SASE big enough for an 8x10.

Thanks Thunder9 for the npn info. I tried to get it from Topps and they told me to go buy a pack to find out. Problem is that nobody around here has them.

I trust it is the same standard stuff of hand written name & address on a 3x5 card in a #10 envelope?

I wonder if it would help if you mailed Mr. Gorrer a black (or whatever color you like) marker pen in your next request? Those silver paint/gel pens are pretty yucky in my opinion.

Congrats on your returns.

Star Collector has an entire section dedicated to them. Check out http://www.star-collector.net/ and go to the sports section, scroll down to "Negro League", and bingo - loads of names and addresses.

I can tell you that if anyone posts a "big name" players email on a public site, that email address will be invalid in about 2 seconds once that person gets slammed with requests.

Has anyone picked these up yet?

If so, what are your opinions about them? Worth the money to try a few packs or just a lame 3D gimmic?

I would also be interested in the NPN info if you could post that too. wink.gif

I have a Fleer Ultra Ultra Rookie of Claude Giroux and an Upper Deck Young Guns of Adam Burish on eBay right now.

If you are the winner of any of my two auctions AND a member of this forum, mention it to me and I will send a bonus jersey card (of my choice) FREE.

Alfred Molina signed and personalized a 3x5 card form c/o the theatre he is performing at in N.Y.

He played Doctor Octopus in the Spider-Man movie and was the guide that gets whacked with the spikes in the begining of the Indiana Jones Raider of the Lost Ark film. (just to name two of the many films he is in)

I can post the address if anyone is interested, but since the play finishes at the end of June and he lives in the UK, it might be too late to send to via that venue now.

The best advice I can give is to treat the people you send items to with as much respect as you can. They are taking time out of thier lives to do you a favor, so make it as nice for them as possible.

This is just my own personal advice and what I feel is a good way to go about getting someones autograph....

Hand write your letters. It adds a more human touch and try and add a personal detail as to why you want the persons autograph.

I angers me when I see people emailing or writing to a player just because they are good for an autograph. If you don't care who they are or why they are famous, why waste thier time asking for a signature?

ALWAYS include an item to be signed and ALWAYS include a SASE. It is rude to assume a person, no matter how famous or wealthy, should provide you with a picture and pay for postage.

If I get an autograph from someone, I don't bombard them with further requests. Once is enough. Don't ruin it for others.

Don't send them a box full of stuff to sign. One or maybe two items. Try and remember that you are eating up that celebrities time and lots of celbs I have read about (like Paul McCartney) won't sign because it is not for a fan, but someone who wants to flip it on eBay.

Somefolks sign for free and some for money. Do your homework and find out before you send. Use Google or forums. Don't expect others to do all the work for you.

And last...just use the manners your parents (hopefully) taught you. Say Please and Thank You. It goes a long way in life.

Todd McFarlane signed my card in under two months time. Pretty cool how he went from being a top name in comics to the top name in toys and action figures. I kindof like how he started to sign in silver, the pen died, and he redid it in red.
