Trade-A-Thon--It's BACK!!!!

THE TRADING CARD CENTRAL MONTHLY TRADE-A-THON IS BORN AGAIN BEGINNING MAY 16, 2009 AND LASTING UNTIL MAY 19, 2009.

This 4-day event will once again be a time where all Collector Zone members are encouraged to focus on trading, buying and selling with each other. So, dust off your trade and want lists! In addition, stop by the local shop and make sure you're fully stocked with shipping supplies.

Come Saturday (5/16/09) all attention will turn to trading, buying and selling! We'll also have a number of giveaways - many of which will be awarded to those members who simply post (and then later complete) a transaction during this event! We'll also have a special prize for the member that completes the most transactions by the time the June 2009 Trade-a-Thon starts (only transactions posted during the Trade-a-Thon will apply)!

As you can see, this special event should be a great time and a great opportunity for many of you to obtain some new cards from your want lists!

Let's do everything we can to make this just the start of a great series of monthly trade-a-thons here at Trading Card Central.

And just to whet your appetite, here's a taste of one of the prizes that might be coming your way...

This sounds like an a ton of fun! It'll be interesting to see how many more transactions are turned during this time vs any other time period of the same length. Bob, I expect you'll have some way of reporting these stats to us when it's over?

New contest for those members with
serious initiative.

In honor of the 4 day Trade-A-Thon, we are
announcing a new contest.

The winner will be the member that completes
more trades in the four days (May 16-19) than
any other. Notice the emphasis on completes, the
winner will be determined by not only by number of
trades but by their "sense of urgency" in getting
the cards out to their trading partners and vice versa.
The originator of the Trade Agreement will be given
credit for the trade. Sales do not count.

Winner will receive this card . . .



There will be another contest running consecutively
with the Trade-A-Thon. The two members involved in the
"biggest trade" will be eligible for this card . . .


The winning trade will be determined by a poll.
You may nominate the trade by your own set
of values, whether it is Book Value or pure
collectibility. When the "Biggest Trade" is
determined, the names of both traders involved
will be placed in random.org for a winner.
Sales do not count.

Let's have some fun with it and get to tradin' folks!

78 sales

With less than one day to go, will we pass 300 transactions generated during the Trade-a-Thon? Which member will be in the "driver's seat" based on pending trades?

Nah, duplicate partner in this round of trading. Shawn (sasports) had to do some major digging to find a card to complete another trade. It was an 11th hour trade....

Alright, here is some data to crunch. I think overall our venture back into the trade-a-thon was a success. But, I'll have to get some info from Bob in order to confirm if trade-a-thon was statistically different than any other five day period here at TCC.

As of right now we have:

140 Completed Trades
45 Completed Sales

So, 185 completed transactions that were generated during the Trade-a-Thon.


There are still:

39 pending sales
57 pending trades

So, if everything is completed we will have generated and completed 281 total transactions during the May Trade-a-Thon, with 197 being trades.


Here is the list of those with the top number of completed trades so far, that were generated during the May Trade-a-Thon. This includes ones that were completed after the Trade-a-Thon was over.

Thanks, Trent.

Next time around we need a whole lot more participation. My efforts primarily focused on looking at other people's needs and going after them. Trading for something of value to use as trade bait and return. For me it was about helping out others. Great opportunity to work on all those sets.
