Bob Gibson played pitcha nd catch with Madison when she was 4 at a card show until the promoter got mad.

Gibby even signed a ball and gave it to her!

Cool thing to do. Hey that kid is pretty good (catching and tossing)

Neat to see that kind of interaction between a player and a fan, however, I am sure the MLB is not happy with that as there is just too much risk for being sued.

It appears to be from the same pre-game batting practice (I suspected as much from a few quick pans near the end of the Gio video).

http://main.aol.com/2013/05/15/nationals-pitcher-gio-gon_n_3280159.html
"Not to be outdone, Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu similarly http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/hyun-jin-ryu-plays-catch-young-dodgers-fan-163041587.html with a cute young fan on the opposite side of the stadium prior to the game"

Doesn't matter who was the first, just that they cared enough about the young'ens to do it.

Yes sir, that is the core of the thread. A little boys game . . .

While multi-million dollar contracts are signed and sealed
we get to witness kids throwing baseballs with Pros. It is, to say
the least inspiring.

I also liked the story of Matt Kemp giving his jersey, hat, and cleats to a young disabled fan. He signed a ball and proceeded to take off the above items and hand them to the young man.
