jaderock: There always seems to be at least one per year that doesn't sign or is very expensive. For example, from the 2006 set Hulk Hogan and Mike Tyson would be over $100 at a private signing. I can't justify that without a financial windfall. 2008 is the worst set for non-players as Billy Mitchell, Matt Biondi, Serena Williams, and at least 5 others just don't sign autographs at all. The 2012 set has Sandy Koufax and an astronaut (Bluford) that won't sign the card. Since 2008, I have a 65% success rate with 285 returns and 132 requests waiting for a response. I could have a higher success rate, but that would come at the cost of fewer successes overall. Here was today's return:
I get angry when I pull a checklist & autograph stickers are lame. I am currently collecting Allen and Ginter mostly-TTM autos (1200+ and counting). Now posting regularly as AstronautInsurance on Instagram. RIP RGBII :( Cheers! Photobucket is dead; moved to Instagram

There is a private signing coming up with Lou Piniella and I have to decide which card to send in. Which one would you pick? Too bad the custom has his name spelled incorrectly!

Right now, I think the Texas Rangers are the best signing team in baseball. It is nice to watch a Rangers game and not shout "Answer your mail!" at the players on the television.

The first set of A&G that I bought was in 2007. One of the issues with that set was that all of the Dick Perez insert cards were marked as 1/1, and we all know what that means to novice collectors. As a result, people were buying common cards on ebay for way more than they should have went for. One collector didn't like the quality of the pictures in the set so he wrote an open letter on his blog: An Open Letter to Dick Perez To Perez's credit he wrote a reply in the comments section. Ladies and gentlemen, here is a Dick Perez auto: And a couple of recent returns from this year's set.
