He isn't giving away free boxes; he is giving "secret info" on how to "get" free boxes. QUOTE(degibson84 @ Nov 12 2008, 05:55 PM) the only way to find out is to buy it and see if you can get a free box and if it dosen't file a claim and get your money back. it seems like a scam to me though

Well, He's sold them for $5.00 in the past so if 10 is to much try offering him less.
I don't know if it can be considered a scam. I mean all he is selling is words. He guarantees you will make your money back in a week but what is his guarantee. He doesn't say he will give you your money back. Also, what is needed to prove they don't work. If you ask the company for a free card and they send you one does that mean his tips work. What if you don't use his tips for two weeks, will he send you your money back. After all, you didn't make your money back in a week. I'll give you a free tip. Call the company and ask them for a free box, or a free pack, or a free card, they just might send you one. There, thats a free tip and its guaranteed. If it don't work I'll give you the money back that you paid for the tip. That's a guarantee you can take to the bank. Of course what you do with it once you get there I have no idea.
Its the same as the gambling tips. They all have disclaimers. I'd be willing to bet that once you get his tips there is lots of fine print. Something like "if you try even one of these tips it means that you agree that they work and the guarantee is void."
The bad thing is that all these people left feedback before they tried the ideas. If they don't work its too late to do anything about it. I doubt Ebay would give you your money back on this if they allow the auction to begin with. To me this kind of thing should not be allowed.
It reminds me of a scam I heard about a long time ago in a womans magazine. All a pregnant woman had to do was send $5.00 in an envelope with her birth date and they would tell you what sex her baby would be 100% money back guarantee if they were wrong. They had a 50/50 chance, probably even better because I remember hearing once that something like 52% of the babies born are males (I think it was male, it might have been female, I know it was one or the other) so they just got odds in there favor. So what if they have to give 1000 people their money back, they got to keep it for another 1000.
I say we all chip in quarter and get a set of tips for the site.

Well...I did...offered $5 and it was automatically accepted...here it is:
You could actually receive something...but it is not being honest at all:
"First of all Thank you for purchasing this item.. Now to the good stuff..... First you have to know what box you want. After you have decided what brand of cards you would like to receive, try to obtain a box top, pack wrapper, etc of the brand. If you don't have the box or pack wrapper, go to your local sports cards store and ask for a empty box just tell them you need it to put cards in it. If that is not possible, find sellers on ebay who look like they have opened many boxes and just tell them you collect the boxes and ask if you may pay for shipping and they will send you some. If there is no possible way for you to get the box covers or wrappers, it is ok.... You may not get a box in return but you will most likely get an auto or GU....
Second, take all the box covers or wrappers that you want to get and put it in a envelope with a letter saying the following: Dear Sir or Madam: I have bought ___ number of boxes and none had come with a (auto or jersey or rookie you choose according to what the box gives you) as promised so I would like to you to resend me a box with the proper items as the box should consist of. Then type your Name, Address, Tel Number, Email and Sign the bottom Thank you Your name. Then Mail it to The Upper Deck Company 5909 Sea Otter Place Carlsbad CA 92008 And you should get your boxes in 6-10 weeks no question!!! Try to send in send in 2 boxes at first then keep doing it.
Enjoy getting your cards and good luck to you... I sincerely hope it works as well for you as it has worked for me... you should be getting some good stuff... remember the better brands you use the better cards you will get....
Thanks again and please leave positive feedback and I will be sure to do the same on the same day"
