Trying to get free advertising at the admin's expense here?? Pretty tackey.

I'd never visit any of these sites for that reason alone. Do you realize how much money it costs annually to keep a board like this up and running? I do. I'm an admin on another board. It's damn expensive!

If I were going to do it at all, I'd ask this board's admin before I did.

There is a right way and a wrong way to promote other sites... THis I feel is the wrong way and I will not go there as a result of these posts...
I do a lot of recruiting on other sites and for the most part I have taken a different approach... Post that you are looking for something, post your wantlist on your own personal site and direct them there.... Then on your own personal site, you can offer a link to the site that you are wanting them to take a look at....Hit my www. link to see what I mean. I too am a member at many other sites, but active mainly here other than actively maintaining a thread that is recruiting others... Show some respect to this site and curb the direct requests.... YOu have obviously hit on a nerve of many people here and while Bob has said that he is not offended...I too agree that it is disrespectful to his efforts to give us everything we need here.... I feel this site already has all that you are speaking of...Have you even tried Open Checklist??

Randall, you are correct, but I still find it disrespectful. I think most would have been less offended if he would have stated he got a great trade there or someone was selling cards for 10% of BV or something of that nature and he told us about the site that way, as opposed to the way he is selling the site. We all know everyone goes to whatever sites they want, and Bob does not mind that info, but I think you need to be tactful in the way you announce it. Like if I feel I got a good deal at a card website, I will mention it when I do my box break, etc.

Anyway, lets let this thing roll back into oblivion again.

I started typing along these same lines and saw that you were responding and wanted to see what you said first.. I could not have said it better... I am not about bashing anyone, but I am about protecting others and their efforts when they are "encroached upon" Very nicely said Brian!!

For a new thing it seems to get a good response from everyony here just look i'm the 27th person to post on the thread so it can't be that bad of an idea. It never hurts to give people all the possiblitys for tradeing cards for 1 I signed up for the open checklist and it was to hard to post takes to long. There is one website that has auctions that the same postting works for the other site so it makes it so easy to list a page to let people see
