I'm not sure whether he beat the kid or not. My point is simply that IF he did, I wouldn't want him on my team. You don't know whether he did or not, either. You're just assuming he didn't. Maybe you're right, and chances are that you are, but there is a chance that you're not and until the truth comes out I think the Vikings are making the right move.
Furthermore, if you think you have to spank a kid hard enough that it leaves welts to get the point across, or to let them you know you "give a crap", you are extremely mistaken. Spanking a kid that hard is very unnecessary. My kids are some of the most well behaved kids you could ever be around. They're both at the top of their class in grades and conduct. While they have both been spanked, I can assure you that they've never been spanked hard enough to leave welts.

QUOTE(maple19 @ Sep 15 2014, 01:58 PM) this just in AP will play Sunday as the Vikings have put him back on the team I have seen the "photos" and I am all for punishing a child when they do wrong, but "IF" those photos are legit he should get the same treatment. The kid is bleeding from those marks, there is a point where as a parent we have to use restraint and it appears he clearly did not. He used as much restraint as Ray Rice did in knocking out his GF. I am not sure he should loose his career, but if it were you or I we would be facing jail time which means we would loose our job and if you got probabtion you probably wouldn't be allowed to work a job involving activities with kids. Beyond that Michael Vick got 2 years for abusing dogs, aren't humans a higher standard than dogs? (I know some dogs are better than people).

I agree completely, Brian. As I said, I'm not sure the details of the case. I'm not sure whether he did it or not, or whether those pictures are real or not. IF he did do it, though, there should be punishment and in my opinion that punishment should be equal to, or greater than, what Ray Rice received. QUOTE(sasports @ Sep 16 2014, 12:08 PM) Im sorry, but I met Adrian way before he was famous. I was a fan of his when he was playing in HS. I have played against him in backyard games. I just don't see him loosing his cool enough to have done that much damage to a child. I'm sure the same could be said about a lot of people who do stupid stuff like this until it actually happens.

QUOTE(maple19 @ Sep 17 2014, 08:00 AM) He gone until resolved Vikings put him on the Exempt commissioner permission list what ever that is I think that is just a way for a team to avoid losing the player if he were to go to jail? They said Vick was on the same list after he came out of prison for the first two games of the season. What I don't understand is how he is still getting paid until it is resolved in court, at least according to the article I read. That doesn't make sense to me, but it's not my money. The article I read also said other sponsors are upset with recent doings in the NFL and some of his jerseys were pulled off of shelves in some stores.

QUOTE(sasports @ Sep 17 2014, 11:00 AM) But yet other football players (not mentioning any names here) can be accused of Rape and its blows over after a couple weeks Of course, said player threw money at the problem to make it go away........ If said player is who I think you mean, remember he got 4 games for just being accused (more than Ray Rice) and it never went to trial and it lasted for several months at least from what I recall. Not sure if it went away because it was paid to go away or if the case was too weak to prosecute. Based on the sworn statement it appeared the "victim" was seriously intoxicated. Still if that happened it wasn't right, however, I think both were of the age of consent too, not a child, and there never was any real evidence presented in the public proving her side of the story. It was more of a he said, she said case. I wasn't there so I can't say what happened, but there are a lot of people who still are bitter over this and would like him out of the league. Maybe this just shows the NFL is finally trying to get it right or the court of public opinion is weighing more heavily in this case! They took out Vick, but then others have gotten away with domestic abuse and other crimes, so there never has been any consistency with punishments leveled by the NFL.
