Left Everest climber still alive

I have done some rock and mountain climbing in the past and will do so in the future. I have had the pleasure to climb with some of the world's best climbers having worked with the National Park Service. Devils Tower, Yosemite, Mount Rushmore and a host of other places.

Something that I have noticed with both the climbing and mountain biking communities is that they SAY they are environmentalists but will pound pitons, bolts and other things into rock faces, litter profusely around the base of their climbs / ride, and will make routes and trails in places for their own personal enjoyment through environmentallly sensitive areas - all for the sake of personal enjoyment or for the ego trip of saying they had a first ascent or "did it".

Above is an article regarding the continued immorality of the climbing community. Mt. Everest is becomming a garbage dump as these people leave their trash on the mountain rather than practicing a "pack it in, pack it out" policy. But, this is minor compared to letting people die. People are litterally walking by dying people on Mt. Everest on their way to the summit.

I don't know how the people who walk by the dying as they continue their trek to the summit can live with themselves - now or in the future. If there is a god, I hope he/she/it takes no mercy on these individuals.

If you are interested in seeing what the climbing community thinks about this subject, check out this topic at rockclimbing.com.
