The ‘Sweetest’ Autograph In The Industry Returns In 2006 Upper Deck Sweet Spot Baseball

One Sweet Spot Signature Numbered to 350 Or Less Per Box – On Average!

CARLSBAD, CA. (April 11, 2006) – All great ballplayers know that making contact is only part of hitting, a key element is in trying to hit the ball on the sweet spot of the bat. Upper Deck has once again connected with that spot with 2006 Sweet Spot Baseball, loaded with tons of content to ensure long-term value and collectibility for consumers.

2006 Upper Deck Sweet Spot Baseball is a real five-tool product - hits for a high average and power, one Sweet Spot Signature numbered to 350 or less per box; runs the bases, every other box will include a Sweet Spot Signature numbered to 175 or less; fields its position, one-to-two sweet Spot Signatures on fielding glove leather or bat wood numbered to 25 or less per case; and has a cannon for an arm, one oversized swatch memorabilia card numbered to 299 or less per box!

“Each year we determine the top 100 current MLB players that we want to include in Sweet Spot Baseball and then we build a fantastic quality product that collectors can’t wait to get their hands on,” said Gregg Kohn, baseball product manager for Upper Deck. “The Sweet Spot Signatures on the bat barrels and leather glove swatches are far and away the drivers of this product in the hobby. We create this product to stand the test of time with long-term value and quality for collectors.”

This year’s edition is loaded with Sweet Spot Signatures on baseball leather featuring Derek Jeter and Ken Griffey Jr.; Sweet Spot Signatures featuring both bat barrels and leather will be numbered to 25 or less; and the Super Sweet Swatch cards will include an oversized piece of fabric and will be foil printed and numbered to 299 and have a parallel version numbered to 75.
