Yesterday's case break of 2019 Topps was somewhat disappointing. I was hoping to stash PC and recoup the cost of the case with everything that's left. I still think I can do that, but would I be crazy if.......

I took.....what must have been the case hit which completely blows my mind because although I was psyched to get a Yadi autographed relic /25 for my PC it really isn't what I would think of as a case hit. Nonetheless, it was the only decent card in the case.

I just checked ebay to see what they're selling for.... I would estimate anywhere from 40-150......but no one has it listed yet. Would I be crazy to toss it on there with a sell price of $500? I don't really want to sell it, but if someone is crazy enough to spend that for it, I might. Was it John Wooden who said you miss 100% of the shots you don't take?

It never hurts to try, but I have no idea on baseball. The other side of the coin could be that others may think you are way too overpriced and never look at your auctions again? or you could end up the topic of a forum on a card site. laugh.gif You will not know unless you try. smile.gif

Hey....all publicity is good publicity, right? If it gets people to look at my other auctions, they'll see they're fairly priced and I always offer free shipping.

Maybe I could put in the description something like:

This is a PC card. I don't really want to sell it, but if you want it, this is my price.....

I look at it this way.

Collector/Buyer buying a non vintage, certified autograph, relic card for $500 Crazy. Nuts even. OK so relic cards haven't been around long enough to be vintage yet. Well maybe some of the very first years since it was what about 1997 when "jersey" cards first appeared on the market? Still paying three digits for a card that is less than 20-30 years old is nvts in my book.

Seller selling a new certified autographed relic card for $500 NOT Crazy. Now if the true value of the card is only $200/$250 or less then the seller maybe a bit greedy if they knew the value to begin with.

Bottom line I believe the crazyness lies with the buyer not necessarily the seller.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect to pay more than 80-150 for it.

But it being a card I don't want to sell, $500 would be my Mike Wolf-American Pickers crazy price to pry it out of my hands.

Maybe I am too biased against sticker autographs, but I would sell it and get what you can.

$500 or B.O.

Consider it good fortune if you can sell close to $200 .

Pre-war cards(baseball, horse racing)

Collect for pleasure and you will always find happiness.
