so being a die hard trekkie only the original series with kirk and spock and such, and being a huge JJ abrams fan, I was looking forward to this movie since they announced it.

Loved the original relaunch as it went where no one had gone before from birth to academy to a great conclusion.

Zach Quinto couldn't be more like the perfect spock and although the jury was out on Pine as Kirk, I felt he pulled it off well. The rest oof the crew was fabulously cast.

They are all Back!

Some additions this time around include science officer carol Wallace, Peter Weller as the head of star fleet and of course Benedict Cumberpatch as the villainous John Harrison. You even get to see Klingdons this time around.

We went to see it in Imax 3D the superman preview looks awesome by the way.

Spectaularly awesome visiually! The opening scenes with the volcano and the red colors and .. man spectacular!

Pine has really grown into the Kirk role, and Quinto is ever more convincing as the Spock character throughout the flick, to the point where it was almost overkill and you figure out what it is building up to!

There is a couple of cameo's that you do not have to be paying attention to notice! (hint hint). Also knowing a little of the history of the trek movies and TV series wll help you appreciate all that Abrams added for our entertainment.

Overall I actually give it a 8 out of 10. hard to tell to much without spoilers but..visually it is the greatest movie I have ever watched EVER! What Abrams has done is create a masterpiece that all sci-fi movies will have to live up to. but..It was way over the top predictablility wise once you come to a certain point and you will know where that is when you see it and being a diehard original series trekkie I was actually mehh.. could've been a lot more original in my opinion.

Benedict Cumberpatch actually makes the movie well worth while as the villain. His acting, characterization is simply AMAZING. Academy Award worthy in my opinion!

Nice characterization development continuing for Zulu, Scotty, Bones (although he was left as comic relief) Uhura is brought along nicely with her relationship with Spock and they present one of the more comedic scenes in the whole picture!.

If you like Imax 3d This is a cant miss in my opinion! Im sure it is excellent in real 3d too and even just the plain old reel type. A trekkie should not miss it!

I cant wait for the third installment!
