Forgive the sources, but it's the best I could find. I realize that both sites have strong liberal ties (especially the first, just by looking at the ads) - but the info supposedly came from a Fox News show.

Did you know that Imam Rauf, the supposed "radical" Muslim behind the Ground Zero mosque, once assisted the George W. Bush administration in outreach to Muslims?

http://www.newshounds.us/2010/08/18/fox_fr...ue_agitprop.php
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/17/g...f_n_685071.html

From Newshounds:

QUOTE
Stein reported that Rauf was “brought to a forum hosted by the FBI shortly after 9/11 to help ease the social tensions between Muslim Americans and federal agents.” He also reported that this “radical” Imam has participated in interfaith forums at the Aspen Institute where he rubbed elbows with political figures from both parties. But here’s the shocking part about this terrorist in Imam’s clothing. He assisted the Bush administration with outreach to Muslims. He even accompanied Bush advisor Karen Hughes to the Middle East. In 2007, the Bush State Department sent him on a tour of Muslim countries in order to promote tolerance and religious diversity.

That's what it is generally referred to, no?

My focus isn't on the mosque/community center/whatever-you-want-to-call-it anyway - it's on Imam Rauf.

I can think of a few names President Obama is generally referred to but I do address him as such. The same can be said for many people, places or things.

My point is why keep up a lie or fallacy? If you know it is not a mosque, why refer to the building as a mosque just because that's what the right wing pundits are wrongly calling it? Its media ploys like this that keep the public ignorant and people wrongly informed. My beef isnt with you. wink.gif Just ploys like this that give the public the wrong impressions on matters. Its a subliminal ploy people use. Before we know we're all saying the same thing because that's all we hear on the news and what we're saying isn't even accurate.

When truth's and fallacies are mixed together in the same sentence it's hard to decipher what's accurate and what is not.

I'm familiar with the points brought up in the huffington post article.(I couldn't get the other link to work) They've been floating the net for a while but people dont pay attention or care. This is an election year and the right jumped on a story that was already over a year old and bombared us with fear tactics. If this was not an election year, we wouldn't hear anything about this. To prove my point, why weren't the right screaming about this last year?

I honestly don't even follow this whole ordeal anymore. That entire subject is a mute point and worthless discussing. There is no discussing constitutional rights, and the sensitivity/sacred point of view in this conversation is hilarious. There's already a mosque in the vicinity, porn shops and fast food joints. So much for ground zero being a sacred area. What about the area wear the Oklahoma bombing took place?

You've posted something any intelligent person would take for face value. It only reiterates the lunacy and illogic in this whole ground zero "mosque" debate.

That's the reason I posted this - because many people aren't taking some things at face value.
