Hi Everyone!!!! My name is Kristine. I am kind of new here. I have been a member on here since 2005. I was very active at one time, then life happened- got busy and some how stopped getting on this website. My old computer crashed and I was trying to find a website I used to use for checklists. And some how I thought Trading Card Central and then once I got here; I was like "hey I remember this site"! Heck I even remembered my username (impressive I know....).

Any ways- I am a collector of the Baltimore Orioles cards. I am also working on the Topps Heritage & Minors. I have a few projects going and none are complete..... I'm so happy to be back on here....

Even with the regular on computer notification emails you have to login to the site to actually read the message.

It would be a nice function, but it probably won't happen.

I think It's basically like the flag on the old style by-the-road stand alone mailboxes. The flag just tells you there is mail in the box, not the actual contents.

Okay, I was just thinking it would make things so much easier for some of us who can't get on the website all the time, but can get onto their email. Just an idea...

I was just wondering is there is a way for the system to include what the PM says when it emails you the notification? I know there are times when I get my emails on the phone, but can never get the actual message until I log onto the website. I think if you are able to read the message from the email, it can help you prepare to respond (ie picking out cards and coming up with a trade offer). Just a suggestion Thanks.

With the baseball season under way for only 4 weeks doesnt it seem kind of crazy that there has already been 3 players who have hit for the cycle.

Orlando Hudson with the Dodgers on 4-13-2009, Ian Kinsler with the Rangers on 04-15-2009, Jason Kubel with the Twins on 04-17-2009.

Looking over the list of all players who have done this provided by mlb.com . (http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/history/rare_feats/index.jsp?feature=hit_for_cycle). I think thats pretty awesome. I see this being a good season for them, which is good for the batters but not the pitchers!! LOL

I am not looking for cards with auto's already. Which ones do you have and what would you want for trade? I can start looking thru my collection and see if I can find something to meet your wants.

I am looking to pick up some Allen & Ginter. Let me know what you have to trade and what you are looking for in return. I am only willing to work trades right now. (Not allowed to spend money right now due to vacations in June and July sneaking up very quickly). Thanks.

I can't even imagine what I would do if I won the lottery. I think I'd be outta debt first then buy some cards. Even tho I would love to just make some card dealers happy and drop a few grand on them. But unfortunately, I would do the responsible thing first. LOL

I plan on trying to send out a good amount of TTM for MLB this year, so I will keep track via this thread. So they are all together and not clogging other threads.

Spring Training:
Sent to Aaron Hill, Alex Rios, Vernon Wells, BJ Ryan, and Shaun Marcum. Sent all cards on 2/24/09 for ST Addy. Wanted to send to the Blue Jays, so the stamp variance wouldn't be an issue. Guess that game plan didnt work tho.

Spring Training Success:
3/10/09 Aaron Hill 2/2 Black Sharpie

Sent out MLB Season:

4/01/09 Brian Roberts C/O Oriole Park
4/20/09 Chris Ray C/O Oriole Park
4/20/09 Jamie Moyer C/O Citizens Bank Park

I still have not received the check for $5,000. So I guess if I don't have it buy Friday (1 week after he mailed it) I will go ahead and notify the police and Craigslist. Its just frustrating...I was so excited to get rid of the ###### thing.

Kristine, you do know this is a scam, right?

Yes I do. Maybe I cut the original post a little quick. My father in law said it was a scam and I figured it was just to good to be true. I read on Craigslist about the scams and all, and sure enough that was the 1st thing listed, the whole Western Union thing. I am curious if he actually did send the check already. Guess we will wait and see. I plan on submitting all the info to Craiglist when its completey over.

So I posted 2 items on Craigslist last week (a wedding dress and a printer). I received an email about the wedding dress and it absolutley made my day. The guy went thru his speal that he will send check and pay for shipping if I am willing to mail it to him. All I was thinking hell, $500 is $500. Sure no problem.

Then later that afternoon I get the wonderful email: Hello ,
i am not in a good state of mind to tell you this but i think you will have plight for me and understand me. I got a bad news while i was about giving your info to my finance house, i was informed that, my dad had a serious accident and he is in COMA now. The shock of this news affected me badly that, while i was giving your info to my finance house, instead of the original amount to be written on your check, $5,000 was written on it and it has been sent to your address already.
I hope i can trust you with my money and i hope you re trustworthy too and i will appreciate it if you can be sincere with me and since it has happened like this, i think it will be better if the rest of the fund can be sent to my shipping company via western union money transfer so that they can come and pick the item on time and i promise that, i will also compensate you.
May the Lord bless you and keep you. May His light be always with thee. May He keep you safe from harm, and shield you from all wrong. May He grant you His peace. May He guide you on your way. Bring you joy with each new day Please do get back to me and let me know if you will be able to handle this.
Thanks and i will be waiting to hear from you soonest

So needless to say, I am bummed out about this. I was really excited to get rid of the dress. The guy has my name and address, so I was pretty worried about that. I was stupid for giving it out and have learned my lesson!!

Has any one else had anything like this happen to them??

I did not have good luck this spring training. I sent to only the Blue Jays. Wanted to hit them up in Florida, for postage reasons. I sent 2 to: Shaun Marcum, BJ Ryan, Aaron Hill, Alex Rios, and Vernon Wells. Only thing I got back was the 2 Aaron Hills in 16 days both in black sharpie. Kind of disapointing, but can't lose hope. The other ones may show up one day.

I found this thread and just had to respond. I didn't get in trouble at all. Instead I walk in the door and got a "Kristine, Im not happy any more". So needless to say I kept most of the football cards and left a few packs behind as a memory. Only great thing about having a sealed box of football cards...I have NO desire to open them. So I will keep them for a few years and then sell them. Hopefully, get a good profit in return!!

Well I am finaly back on here. Life seems to get some people going in a million different ways. One thing leads to another and you dont know if your coming or going any more. I was updating some information on here and found it very ironic that my first time visiting this site and joining was April 14th, 2005. Oddly enough 4 years ago today. I hope to get back to frequenting the boards once again. This is with out a doubt one of my favorite sites. I have yet to run across ignorance. I must add everyone has been keeping these boards looking wonderful and I'm glad to see alot of familiar names posting still.
