Good luck! I hope if you get picked, that it's a simple case. I reported twice for jury duty. One was at the county courthouse. There were supposed to be 2 cases to be picked for. The first one was sexual assault of a child. Thankfully, I wasn't picked. The second one was pleaded out right before the jury was picked. So, I spent al day at the courthouse for nothing, but the experience of my first time going. The second time I was called, it was at the Justice of the Peace in this tiny little town. Most everyone that was there thought they had to go to the county courthouse and ended up at the JP Court. I was picked for the first case and there was only 4 of us in the jury..all woman, although I was the youngest. JP court only deals w/ minor stuff..traffic violations, code violations, animal cruelty cases, etc. This case was a water code violation. It was a fairly easy case. We could only decide whather the code was broken or not. Clearly, no matter the reason, it was. We felt bad for the woman, but there was nothing we could do, except give her a reasonable fine and enough reasonable time to pay it. Not bad for my first time to serve. If only they were all that easy.

You want to get out of jury duty.....walk into the court room and say "Bring that guilty SOB in here and lets give him a fair trial!!!!" Chances are...you won't get picked.

But the judge let me go with a warning!

I out on bail. Three panels were called and each time my number did not come up. So I am home early.

I think I will go out and pick some peas for dinner.

You want to get out of jury duty.....walk into the court room and say "Bring that guilty SOB in here and lets give him a fair trial!!!!"  Chances are...you won't get picked.

Or just say you want to convict the SOB for taking one of your days away from you by making you spend it in court.

Or just say that you are prejudice against everything.

Ive heard that skipping out on Jury Duty is a huge thing, where you can be fined or even be given jail time

Man that was low.

It was for illegal fishing, but it was a sincere mistake and the judge saw it that way too. Where we were fishing isn't posted, and he pretty much let us off with a warning!
