Collector Zone _ Group Box Breaks _ The OFFICIAL TCC January Baseball Group Box Break

Posted by: Luke2411 Jan 4 2009, 09:01 PM

Here's the thread for the January 2008 OFFICIAL TCC Baseball Group Box Break.

Here is a list of teams and the members who held them in the December
I will make adjustments to this list if teams change, and as people verify with me that they want to be in the January break, and as they pay for their teams.

Those who participated last month have first dibs at renewing their team purchase or choosing another team. So, if you participated in the December break, let me know what you would like to do.

Here are the rules:

Cost: $30--this covers the cost of the boxes and the shipping and supply costs.

The boxes we break will depend on member input and how much money we get. The more members, the more money, the more boxes (or the more higher end the boxes can be).

You can buy as many teams as you want, the first is $30 and each additional team is $25.

How the remaining teams will be distributed will depend on the number of teams left. Once that is determined we can discuss again how those teams will be distributed.

Here are some "decision rules," so there is no confusion.

If a card features more than one player from different teams, then there will be a random drawing between the the owners of the teams featured on the card, using a random drawing. The owner who is chosen by the random drawing will receive the card.

If a card features a player in a different jersey than the team labels on the card, the card will go to the team of the jersey the player is in.

Game used and auto cards from teams who are not chosen during a particular month will be randomly awarded amongst all members of the break, based on a random drawing with members who have gotten more hits in the break getting less chances in the drawing.

The rest of the cards that are from teams who are not chosen during a particular month will be randomly distributed amongst all participants in the break.

Alright, here's a thought on at least one of the boxes.

I bought a box of 08 Prime Cuts from DIAMONDCARDS. I'm sitting on it. I paid $205 and would be willing to use it for this month's break if you guys want to break 08 Prime Cuts.

I would just take the $205 out of the budget for this month.

If not, then I'll decide what to do with it on my own and we can do some other things for the break.

Let me know what you'd like to do.

Posted by: RGBII Jan 4 2009, 09:16 PM

Confirm me on the same teams.

I like the Prime Cuts, let's do it.

-Bob

Posted by: jabash0331 Jan 6 2009, 06:58 PM

just sent paypal payment and just to let you know i received the cards from the december break today...thanks!

Posted by: Luke2411 Jan 7 2009, 09:39 PM

Thanks for the payments so far. Anyone want to make a suggestion for boxes?

I'm going to nix the Prime Cuts idea at least in regards to the pack that I bought, because I really really want to open it myself. Is that selfish??? It probably is, but I really like this stuff and I'd rather just keep whatever is in it.

If that makes everyone mad, then I'm sorry. I'm a jerk.

Posted by: captkirk42 Jan 7 2009, 10:48 PM

Is there something we haven't done in a while that is decent quality and gives an OK amount of hits?

A couple of months ago we did Ballpark, but that was heavy on a couple of teams, but I think one of the other products we did that month was decent. I don't remember what it was though.

I'll do some scouring. One product that always gives a ton of hits for a low price is SPX, but we've beat the heck out of that. Everyone has every base card from that set they could possibly need.

Let me see what else is available.

Posted by: Luke2411 Jan 7 2009, 11:37 PM

2008 UD Heroes is a pretty good bargain.

2007 Ultimate Collection has 12 hits for around $170. We've had some decent cards come out of that.

2005 UD Reflections was a great product we haven't tried in a while. It's about $110 a box or less.

How about bowman sterling?

We can, it may be a different price. I'll see what Shawn can get it for.

Posted by: DIAMONDCARDS Jan 8 2009, 10:26 AM

i think for the group break you should do a box of prime cuts and a box of 2008 bowman sterling.every box of the bowman sterling i have seen has had between 15 to 18 hits and some even more than that.

Posted by: Luke2411 Jan 8 2009, 10:34 AM

Shawn said he can do the Prime Cuts for $200.00.

So, I'm going to go ahead and put us down for that, because he needs to know right away if we want one.

Posted by: Luke2411 Jan 8 2009, 04:59 PM

Anyone want to do Bowman Sterling? Shawn needs to know ASAP so he can get some for us.

Posted by: batman1641 Jan 8 2009, 05:43 PM

Both sound good to me

Posted by: taz99 Jan 8 2009, 07:50 PM

I am okay with Sterling as well. With these two boxes we pretty much eat up the budget, right?

Posted by: tileman Jan 8 2009, 07:53 PM

i like that 2 box combo as well

Posted by: 5toosweet Jan 8 2009, 10:29 PM

sounds like a great idea to me!!!!

Posted by: Jackstraw Jan 8 2009, 11:29 PM

Love both products...Jeremy, what budget do we have left?

Posted by: Luke2411 Jan 9 2009, 12:30 AM

It looks like we'll have $525 to spend. So, we might have about $100 left over for something else if we go with the Sterling and the Prime Cuts.

Posted by: dd316 Jan 9 2009, 09:32 AM

Sterling and Prime Cuts sounds cool! Nice to do some super high-end stuff. smile.gif

Posted by: Luke2411 Jan 9 2009, 04:08 PM

How's this for $525...

08 Prime Cuts IV
08 Bowman Sterling

Well, you can. I would just have to take the money and add it to next month's break. I think that should be ok. That doesn't mean you'd get a free team next month, it would just mean the money would go to next month's budget since this month's has already been spent.

Is everyone ok with that?
