I'm not in any hurry to move this, just thought I'd see what I can get it for it. I paid $200.00 for it last year, but I would take less than that if selling. Looking for Ian Kinsler,Devin Harris, or other high end. A picture can be found below:

PLMK with a PM if you haven't gotten any trade done yet on this as I would love to try and take a whack at this one if I could. This would be another nice centerpiece for my PC.

6: Lower the price of just encapsulating. It costs $7 just for them to encase it with-out grading. It should be more like $3-4. I asked because I had wanted to get the coa cards encased if I sent in the auto buybacks for grading. & I was going to use the special grading so that would have only been $7 per card. It can't cost them that much to encase a card.
Ok thanks everyone for looking. Please let me know what you think & add your own.

OK # 6. Is just plain crazy. JUST B/C YOU WANT IT THEY SHOULD LOWER THEIR PRICES CHEAPER FOR JUST ENCAPSULATING. UUHH Hello they are in business to make money not sell an exspensive version of a top-loader LOL
Gimme a break you do know there is cost in making the material for those holders and also the machines used.

Finally your ultimate mistake is going to the most crooked and biased people in the sportscard business industry especially anything dealing with grading.
If you want : ACCURACY , CONSISTENCY , UNBIASEDNESS , INTEGRITY , AND TOP QUALITY PRODUCT . Then you go to SGC for grading and no one else both BGS / BVG / BCCG , and PSA are a total joke.

A similar post on another message board got me thinking:  What is your favorite card in your collection?  Not necessarily the card that books the most or is the rarest, but the one you care the most about.

Feel free to post for more than one sport....or even multiple cards per sport if you can't narrow it down.

a couple of questions.

are all graded cards on a 10 scale no matter who grades them?

when looking at BV what is the high grade? 8? 9?

when looking at BV what is the low grade? 5? 1?
*

#1. NO

#2. There is a different price guide / guides for Graded cards

#3. Again goes by a different Guide so depends on the card / set it's from.

SGC is the best / and also unbiased grading company to use. With Beckett being the worst which is why people only RISK grading new stuff mostly through them.

QUOTE(bajmurray @ Sep 1 2009, 06:36 PM)
The reason I ask this question is because of something that happened today.

I had been going through an a couple-of-year-old Beckett magazine, when I reread an atricle on "Supercollectors" of certain baseball players. In the article, they highlighted the number of cards, atutos, GU, 1/1s as well as the total value of the collections.

I realized that I had a Donruss Gridiron Kings Platinum 1 of 1 for one of the players (the name is not important, as I'm not trying to call anyone out).

I e-mailed the collector (the e-mail was in the article) & told him that I had this card, which I was willing to trade or sell (NO price was mentioned in my e-mail). I also offered to send a scan.

A short time later, I received a polite e-mail response stating: "I appreciate the offer, but I'm not too interested in the DK series...thanks anyway."

(Certainly within the collector's perogative to do so.)

My question is: Can you be considered a single player "Supercollector" if you ignore mainstream issues?

Just wondering.

Comments?
*

You should call him/her out on it. lol or at least pm me theame so I know who it is. That's just hilarious and another sign that Beckett doesn't know jack / do any research. At the very least that person should write in to Beckett if they have any integrity and have their name removed from the list of supercollectors/ have them do a article correction laugh.gif Anyways here is the true definition of what a super collector is PERIOD !!

A super collector is anyone who has a collection that has other people , and more specifically other collectors say that it is a SUPER COLLECTION for whatever reason best player collection , most different cards , most highend. B/C it will mean different things to different people. So as long as least one other person than yourself says you have a super collection then you are a super collector.

QUOTE(NYStateOfMind1976 @ Sep 3 2009, 02:34 PM)
All,

I am by no means a "supercollector" but ever since I was a little guy I have been a huge fan of Don Mattingly. I was young and at a Yankee game (which I went to with my father all the time) when my dad approached Donny Baseball during batting practice for a picture. Not only did he take the picture but he lifted me up and put me on the filed next to him to take the shot. Needless to say, a great moment and something I do not think we will see much of anymore... Okay, so I have been all about Don Mattingly cards forever. I think I have a decent collection of Autos/GU etc... I was going through my cards and noticed almost all my commons and inserts of Mattingly are damaged in one way or another. Not the end of the world but it bugs me a bit. I was curoius if the TCC faithful can help me out. I am never against GU or Autos but this is mostly for the regular cards. I am willing to trade for lots or buy or whatever. Basically sky is the limit. I am looking for any and all Don Mattingly cards... Please let me know what we can do...

Thanks in advance...

Adam
