Folks,
I have been absent and without input for so long that these words will have meaning but to a very few.
I found a home here at Trading Card Central in 2006. To say that it was comfortable would be the understatement of this quarter century. The fine members of this site not only understood my obsession, they reveled in it.
I found a community that was tight, committed and fired-up. Y'all made me a better collector. I didn't think that was possible. Each and every member that posted here made me appreciate the enormity of the power of the internet and its potential.
I have found collectors better than me, more hard-core than me and ultimately more obsessed than me (tough act to follow, there).
You folks, the members of Trading Card Central, have carved a genuine, deep and profound influence on my life. That is not an overstatement, it is a fact. We may collect cardboard with pictures of men on them, but ultimately, we, the members of Trading Card Central did it better than anyone else.
I resign my duties and responsibilities to Trading Card Central.
I salute you one and all. never forget this . . .

Richard,
I can only thank you for you leadership during your time and our resulting friendship. As fate would have it, we joined Trading Card Central the same day. Who would have thunk it?
Thank you for your time and dedication to TCC and it's members. Speak soon.
Bob
Thank you for your outstanding service over the years, understandable action with whats gone on (or lack of) around here. I've taken over a web site with less traffic than here but it's been a tight little group over the years, drop by & say hi now & then (not trying to spam here just didn't want a friend & a great member of the hobby to totally disappear, the site is http://www.thecollectorsgroup.com/forums/index.php
a couple, maybe more guys from here post there once in a while. It's not much right now but I hope to have the time to put together another option for those that care.
thanks again
Best wishes to you Richard! It was a pleasure to have known you for the short time I have been here!
Richard,
Thank you for your "time served" and dedication to TCC. Especially all the behind the scenes stuff that we in the public TCC community don't see. You are one of the TCC team members who helped keep this site (and online community) going when things seemed like they were ending when Bob disappeared.
Kirk
Richard, sorry to hear this but not surprised. As has been said thank you for all you did for TCC. Hopefully, TCC can keep on plugging (slugging) along.
Keep on collecting hard and best wishes to you and yours.
Thanks for all that you did here Richard, it was not unnoticed. Hate to see you go, but totally understand also at this point (as have had same thoughts for awhile now, as I"m wondering why I bother many days trying to keep a site afloat for an AWOL Admin). Being stubborn can only take me so far. See you on FB, unless you quitting that crazy place too, with it's diverse set of fanatics
Thanks for everything Richard, you will be missed
Richard, you are a class act. Thank you for helping make TCC what it was, and can be again!
I still remember the day when a newcomer offered me a Sammy Sosa autograph #d out of 21 for a whopping $20. I thought to myself: "Who is this guy?" and "Is this too good to be true?".
I eventually took the deal, and it was the start of a great friendship. Richard, you have presented yourself as a class act time and time again, and TCC would have been lost in the last few years had it not been for your leadership. You made the site enjoyable again, and put tons of your time into holding it up.
I feared this time was coming. Are you going to continue collecting as life allows it?
I've taken myself off of the CZT.
My resignation was ignored by a member that will remain nameless.

Thank you, Mr. Matthews.
I'll pop in from time to time, have do doubts. The site and its members have had way too much impact for me to ever dream of disregarding either.

*salute*
Does that mean I can finally have the key to your medication cabi... I mean Treasure Chest?
Huh..Did somebody hack into Richards account?
No sir(s), gentlemen.
It is the real deal. I simply don't have the initiative to
be a part of the leadership here anymore.
I should have done this months ago.

Ive had the pleasure of meeting and dining with Richard. He is indeed a gentleman and a scholar. I havent been on TCC for a plethora of reasons, so I've had a head start over most of you in regards to having RGBII withdrawals.
He's affected many members and will always be missed. Success & Prosperity to you brother! I wish I knew where you were hanging out online.
I am peeved beyond belief.
Leave it to my political friend to come here, give us hope and change only to leave before his term was up!
So with you out Sir, who is our head leader? How many active MODS are left? What is the future of TCC?
Consider this an aggressive endorsement, Mr. DePouw.

Okay, Thanks! Think at one point Richard said it was time to get this site going in a thread, and would still like to see that happen, guess this was the wrong thread to post it in, but knowing where we stand with the site is important when great members that been here step down
I will try to step things up as a member here, If I could? More contest and get awards back going again, I will take this topic to the right thread and go from there!
I cant even begin to express what Richard has done for this site as well as this hobby. Not to mention what he has done for me. Richard has helped me pull through some of the toughest situations in my life and has always been there both as a mentor and a friend.
It is with great sadness that I acknowledge and reluctantly accept the fact that Richard has resigned. This site owes a lot, much more than the vast majority of this site will ever know, to Richard.
I have only one thing to say to Richard directly:
COLLECT HARD!
5 sportcards salute to you!!
Sorry to here Richard. Though I don't get on here a lot anymore, I do miss how it used to be on here and you was a part of that. Thanks for making times on here a little funner. I hope that you will still come around and maybe slowly this site will make a big come back and it will encourage you to refill your meds you need to come back to full you.
Collect hard friend!!!

Woah! It was a pleasure meeting you and others at the NSCC a few years back! Thank you for your service Richard!
The pleasure was mine.

Richard, you are THE MAN no matter what you decide. This toot's for you! -
Thanks!! You'll be missed!!
Richard -
You will be missed. I ran into you at another site and the ONLY reason I joined here was your invitation.
If you get a chance drop me a PM with your current address. I've got a few things stockpiled for you.
Best regards!
Richard
You did a fabulous job, sad to see you resign. Hope to read and see many posts from you in the future. Even though I rarely post anything anymore, I do lurk from time to time.
Brandon
Happy retirement to you Richard! Sad to see you leave this site. I am not longer active, but I know how much you meant to this site.
Thanks to all for your kind words.
It was my pleasure to share this wonderful site with each and
every one of you. I cherish the relationships that Trading Card Central
created and nurtured.
I'll continue to stop by and post when I have something of import
to rant about.
Thanks again & Collect Hard!,

A little something for Richard.. revel in it

Well that just stinks! Friggin jerk.
Hate to see you go Richard! You were a "rock" here at TCC for a long time. You personified what a collector should be in every way. I haven't been very active either as of late. Every time I have an idea it gets met with excuses and a why bother attitude so I just drop by from time to time to see if anyone has posted anything of note. Stay well my friend, we will meet again!
Wow...just saw this post (showing how active I am nowadays). You will be missed sir!
But as always "Collect Hard"!
Take care my friend. You were always the best of the best, and considering the quality people I had the pleasure of working with on these boards.... well, that is saying a lot.
Sometimes I wish there were a like button on here. Some great comments from people I have not seen anything from in a while. I hope you all are well.
I see I'm about half a year late on this... For some reason TCC entered my mind this morning and I decided to drop by, hoping to see it half as active as it used to be....
Richard, you're a great guy. I hope all is well. Sorry to see you resign but I am sure you have your reasons.
Collect hard!
Richard enjoy your "retirement". You did a lot for this site, and although i didnt agree with every decision, you did what was best at the time. Now that im back on the site id love to catch up with you some time. All the best.
