I only collect a bit of football now so this really is a good and bad thing. I always said Donruss got screwed in the BV area because they had nicer patches and designs on a few of their items as well as lower PR yet beckett always said UD was better. maybe this will make people open their eyes to Panini (Donruss) IF Panini keeps that same quality up when it comes to the patches and lower PR. I think the monopoly is going to kill it overall and I hate the idea but I think the high end stuff did that a long time ago with not delivering the bang for the buck.
ALL companies are guilty of that one. Something has to change, this with UD was just the start hopefully but more needs done.
The college crap will not save UD. Look at Press Pass. Everyone wants it at 1st until the NFL jersey pic stuff comes out then it is worthless. Same will happen with the UD stuff.
UD is done IMPO. Topps needs to buy them out, merge or whatever but even with that the industry has changed but I am not sure if it is for the better or the worse but I am not thinking it is looking good.

agreed. I despise this exclusive contract (insert 4 letter word here). This is only meaning that we will get less quality products with less hits and they can do this because they don't have any competitors. Why not allows all companies in but only allow 6 products each?

UD and Topps if they were to sign a contract would have to sign a two year deal with the NFL. As of right now it is just talk , but there is talk of a STRIKE or LOCKOUT again for 2011. If everyone remebers the NHL a few years back there was a ton of Hockey cards out there but no games being played. I wonder if the companies were being pressured and thats why we have this situation now with UD and why Topps doesn't want back in.

Donruss Elite does ok with college jersey pics so we'll have to see if the UD
products can do well to.
