He is a Avid Ron Paul supporter. Obliviously Ron Paul is not going to be president in 2009, but he said he could never vote for some one who supports abortion, or who agrees with same sex marriage, and some other things that i did not quite catch (i agree with all this, by the way i go to a christian school)
So he says he would rather have Obama Be the president, then McCain, because he thinks that it will unite the republicans, and make us all agree, so that the next election ill be better, and we will have a more agreeable party. I very much disagreed with him, saying that obama in office would ruin a lot of what Republican stand for. but i am just a kid, so does he make sense, or not?

The problem is, that for four years, Obama could do great damage to our country. I care far more about my country than the well being of the Republican party.

QUOTE(hernant15 @ Mar 28 2008, 07:47 PM) Why are you assuming that Obama could do harm to USA? I think that after having Mr Bush as president, every candidate will do a better government than him I'm not "assuming" anything. Based on what he said he do: He would weaken our security and that of the middle east by withdrawing from Iraq. Further weaken our economy by raising taxes and increasing spending. Lower our quality of healthcare by having the government run it. Hopelessly screw up our judicial system by appointing activist judges. Support infanticide by allowing abortion at any time during preganancy. Are those enough reasons or do you want more? You seem to be quite the expert on George Bush's presidency. Do you live in this country and have first hand knowledge of it? Or do you base your beliefs on what you read on the internet and what you see on the news?

I'm confused as to how this person believes that if Obama becomes President, it will unite the Republicans. Now I personally support Obama, but I think that would possibly make the Republicans more split.

QUOTE(fenway1990 @ Mar 29 2008, 02:08 PM) my teacher says that back when Clinton was president, the republican party was more focused on basically trying to out vote his policies, and that if obama becomes president the same will happen. You're teacher is right but it happens in every administration. It's called politics. Ask yourself this: When's the last time the democrats supported any of Bush's policies? They did, however, authorize the use of force in Iraq. A lot of people don't want to remember that though...
