A Michigan family was cleaning out an old farmhouse and accidentally stumbled across a long-sought after collection of football cards worth thousands of dollars and considered perhaps the rarest such collection in history. The set is highlighted by an "anonymous" card of former Harvard football player John Dunlop, which was first issued in 1894.

The Dunlop card alone is reportedly worth $10,000, according to Lou Brown, president of Legends Sports and Games. "If it was in the right condition, it could be worth up to $60,000," Brown told Yahoo! News in a phone interview.

man, why cant I have luck like that. I just seen on the news where a family was cleaning out a family members basement and came across some rare comics. They put them on auction and earned three million.

I grew up in Worcester Mass, from the late 50's to late 70's. In the late 60's the city started their idea of urban renewal. Which ment demolish all the old apartment buildings. Some of which were contructed around 1870 or so. The apartments were cleaned out of furniture. But, everything was left in the cellars. The pulled the whole building down on tons of antiques. Trunks and furniture crushed all buried. My mother wouldn't let me out of her sight to look for old baseaball cards in those trunks a dresser draws.

The cities other idea over the past 4 years was to knock down all the old office buildings downtown and build a huge mall. And charge people tp park in it. 40 years later, they are demolishing that same mall to build a huge hospital.

What a great find for the Michiganders, lots of out farm house's in my state, when we head up north in the summer we always hit farm Barn sales and estate sales along the way, the stuff you can find, got my first Yzerman RC at a barn sale in Cross Village Mi, 12 miles south of the Mackinac Bridge, $2 I paid for it! Too bad it was a Topps, but still, never know what you can find, great story!
