I think next year the awards should have their own forum, instead of just being posted in hobby talk.

The forum could be at the top, even above News and Announcements, so people have to at least see it. Some members here may not ever look at Hobby Talk, so they never even know the voting is taking place. The voter turnout to this point is incredibly low considering this is a once a year deal, and the number of members who are active on here every single day. It should be made a big deal, even with a banner that directs people to the award forum.

Also, not that it's too big of a deal, but it would also eliminate the overcrowding of the hobby talk forum.

Just something to think about for next year.

PS - It also wouldn't be a bad idea to do the same thing for things like trade-a-thons too, at the top of the other forums, so they're easily seen and accessible.

I think that is a pretty solid idea too. Sometimes I forget when those things are going on, so it would be nice to have some sort of bold reminder.

I collect rookie cards. Please check my list to see if you have anything I need.

I am looking for Don Mattingly cards that I don't have. Base, Inserts, Patches, maybe GU or Autos.

Always looking for Edgerrin James and Javarris James cards I need!

**MY WANTS**
-2007 topps tx superbowl ticket stub auto versions only. Base set of stubs is done!
-2001-2006 topps tix super tix superbowl ticket stub cards and auto version.
-Colts Super Bowl tickets from any Super Bowl they played in. Prefer full tickets but would be open to stubs as well. Only tickets from the Manning ERA!
-A Super Bowl ticket or stub from the AZ Cardinals and Steelers.
-Any full ticket or stub that has Edgerrin James on it!
-Edgerrin James- Mostly rarer stuff. Also odd ball type items.
-Javarris James- Mostly rarer stuff. Also odd ball type items.
-Any checklist that has Edgerrin or Javarris James name on it!
-Any cards of the actors from Married With Children.
-Ice-T auto- From Razor.
-Some of the Celebrity GU and autos. Mostly famous movie actors I like. Nothing super high end.

Awesome idea... an old site I used to visit used to always have a separate forum at the top of the page for certain events. Be it a Super Bowl discussion (or even more general for the NFL playoffs) or the NBA All Star weekend, it always generated a lot of interest. I really think this is something TCC should look into. As you stated we could also use it for things like TCC Awards and Trade-a-thons.

I agree it would be an awesome idea, as long as they are temporary. We don't need them sitting at the top all year, it makes the site look less up to date when a Trade-A-Thon forum is up but there is none for a month.

I know Shawn (sasports) posted somewhere that the team was already working on this. Maybe it's just taking longer than expected. Then again, maybe they decided to just forgo it. I would think it would have at least been posted by mid-January if it was going to happen. unsure.gif
