Hi everyone. I just signed up and thought i would introduce myself. My name is Ted. I'm an active collector of pre-war material (especially 1919 Black Sox & Reds) but I am actually a Braves fan. I decided to revist the first set i ever put together by hand, 1986 Topps. Although i still have mine from childhood, i started putting together a PSA 9/10 set last week. I am also involved in another project that you guys will definitely hear about when/if the time is right. I have already contacted Bob & JR to discuss this with them. If anyone ever has any questions about older stuff... you can email me through my sig.

I'm on the TCC Team...so I guess you could say I "work" here. Of course...Bob is way behind on payroll checks!!! Bob is the head cheese here...and there's another 13 or 14 on the team that assist when and where we can...doing price checks for members...hosting and sponsoring contests and such. I'm a police officer and just happened to be at the house on break when you posted....I'm about to go back to my "real job".

Well perhaps you will be hearing a lot about me.... we have a pretty big project on the works that could change the way everyone here does things ... hopefully in a good way.... i have sent bob about 5 different contacts b/c i wasn't sure the best way to get in touch with him. In any event, if you guys ever have any pre-1950 vintage question, i'll gladly help. Well thanks! I just decided to do a high grade 86 topps set for the hell of it. It's a nice change from having to drop serious coin on a pre-war card. Being a collector and not an investor means you have to watch your bottom line more closely.

Most of the vintage collectors hang out on another board but there are enough of them with unpleasant attitudes that makes that place no fun.

I've been down that road...and there's collectors that are a pain either through attitude or personal trading policy to make it not worth going to certain sites. I go to those other sites anyways...especially when I'm working on something for my collection that I can't find here or on EBAY.....but those trips to other sites are very limited.

wow seeing the picture of little dickie kerr.. reminds me of a story stan musial once told an audience in quincy IL at a cardinals caravan in the early 70's

about how Dickie Kerr discovered him as a scout and even invited Musial and his young bride to saty and live with him for awhile..

I dont rememebr the whole tale as it has been 30+ years ago but ..I never forgot the name Dickie Kerr who pitched his heart out in that 1919 World Series!!

Welcome to TCC! Boy, am I glad to see you!!! You're the same blacksoxfan from Network54, yes? I'm not as hard core, but I still prefer prewar over modern. Awesome website you got there! Can't wait to see scans of your T206s!
